So good we went twice in one week. Imaginative menu and just out and out delicious eating. With good, friendly service and stunning views across the estuary, what more could one ask for?

Great place for dinner in Salcombe with lovely views of the estuary off the main town. The food we had was very tasty and well presented with fish, meat and vegetarian options. The staff were friendly and attentive. They also do a great Irish Coffee! We will definitely be coming back again!

Made an unplanned stop for lunch here with my wife as it was raining. The fish finger butty was so fresh and delicious with homemade tartare sauce. The bucket of fries were triple-cooked and sumptuous. We rounded off proceedings with a coffee each, which was as delicious as the food (the micro foam on the latté was so creamy!), and we shared the rhubarb and custard cake with rhubarb compote and ginger ice cream. Man oh man, a delicious lunch. The staff were efficient and friendly and the view from the restaurant across Salcombe harbour was stunning. I can't recommend this place more.

Went for a birthday meal, fabulous view from table, really fresh cooked food, an explosion of taste. One if the best meals I've had!

Chose this restaurant for its superb views of the estuary, however, we were seated at a table where my wife had the view and I had my back to it. We were welcomed in and the staff were friendly and very efficient and attentive (couldn't fault them) and the food arrived quickly. My wife was happy with her meal so this review is based on my experience. As we were on holiday I decided to push the boat out somewhat and opted for a fish course - prawn cocktail starter at just over £12 and the Fritto Misto (lemon sole, king prawns, squid rings and an asian salad) at £28.95. I'm not in the habit of ordering such expensive mains but thought at that price it must be rather special. It wasn't.The prawn cocktail arrived in a narrow glass and consisted of some prawns in a sauce placed on top of some dull shredded lettuce with some cress perched on top. I could have done a better job myself at home and would have been embarassed to serve this up to friends as a prawn cocktail. It was bland with little flavour. The Fritto Misto consisted of three goujon-shaped pieces of lemon sole (presumably an expensive fish), two king prawns and two small squid rings, all fried in tempura batter. The squid rings were perched on top of an asian salad which I didn't find at all special. The squid rings themselves I never managed to chew through. The accompanying sweet lime dressing in a small pot tasted no different really to Hellmann's Mayonnaise. This main I found totally underwhelming and I got through it in about 10 minutes, deliberately eating slowly to try to give my wife time to finish her meal at the same time as me. If this meal had been served in a pub I still would have been disappointed.I had two glasses of wine and an Irish Coffee (which was excellent) and my wife had a fruit juice. Including service charge the total came to about £104. I don't mind spending this sort of money on a meal for two once in a while but I expect it to be rather special taste-wise and this wasn't. At these prices I wouldn't risk coming back in the future to try something different. Shame really.

Booked a table for 2 indoors after being told there were no tables outside. On arrival there were 3 or 4 tables free outside. We ordered food and drinks, and waited over 1 hour for the food - but no one had mentioned there was a wait on food, nor was it acknowledged. We asked whilst waiting to move outside to the vacant tables with a view, twice, and on the second time we were successful. Food was nice but overpriced and not exceptional. To add insult to injury, they added a service charge anyway to the bill.Given the abundance of fresh seafood in the area, its a shame everything on the menu was deep fried. Wouldn't go again.

Always a great welcome and service, any time of year. Best fish and chips ever.Visited again to night and had the Linguine, the Fritto Misto as well as the aforementioned Fish and Chips. All superb!

Been here many times over the years but this was a really excellent meal on the first day of our recent holiday. When we arrived the apartment above the restaurant had a burglar alarm going off - must have been a bit of a nightmare for staff and diners as apparently it had been going on for ages. But luckily for us stopped 10 minutes after we arrived - to a massive cheer from everybody. Huge kudos to the staff for dealing with some pretty unreasonable patrons.Sat outside, which is a really beautiful space in the early evening. The menu doesn’t seemed to have changed in 5 years, but when it is this good - who cares?

Had a lovely meal with my family over Easter weekend. We had a mix of main courses (steak, fish and chips, prawn pasta) all of which people enjoyed. Nice bottle of wine and some deserts. All restaurants in Salcombe are pricey but if you want to eat in town then this is a nice place!
