Fished the speciman lake had a 14lb mirror carp out weather was very hot so fishing wasn't the greatest but will be back to have a go for the bigger carp and cats . There is good toilet facilities and there is a kettle so you can make yourself a brew without having to get your gas stove out everyone . Clean well presented fishery would go again.

It's not a bad place! There's a decent amount of spots, but i can see it getting quite busy in high season. Pegs are alright, nowt fancy. Very reasonably priced for what it is. There's a couple of toilets on site ( one is being fixed at the moment ) the owner is nice and down to earth. I've enjoyed myself even though I didn't catch anything (other people got a few). There's room for improvement, but for the price it's definitely very good.

I think it’s important to give honest reviews so here goes. First of all, nice complex with bags of potential to be much better. I’ve fished lake one a couple of times on a feeder rod and margin pole and there’s plenty of fun to be had. There doesn’t appear to be many doubles on the day lakes, most Carp seem to average out at 2-4LB so fish with light tackle to optimise the fun. I’ve also fished the new Legends Lake which I was impressed with. It’s a newly dug water so needs time for the nature and features on the lake to mature so be exciting to see what it looks like after a few more years. As a whole, the complex is fairly nice BUT there’s unfortunately a couple of negatives. First is the condition of the day lakes and swims, in my opinion it’s in need of a really good tidy up. The paths and pegs are almost non existent in places. Bit of rain and the entire lakes turn into a sloppy bog fest. There’s too many pegs, too close together. I wouldn’t want to try and fish on a busy day because you’ll have people casting lines all over eachother. The second negative for me is the price. £15 for a day ticket on a coarse lake is far too hefty, and they also have a rule that if you bring your child along then it’s full charge for them too. If they are able to fish too then fair enough, but if your trying to teach the young’n and introduce them to Angling your basically paying £25-30 to fish a single rod between you and your kid which isn’t fair to be honest. I did mention this to one of the owners who came round for the money and to be fair she was lovely and explained that they felt they had to charge per person due to people claiming they weren’t fishing when they actually were. That I can understand the thinking behind just charging per head, but I think if you can see it’s just one rod out and there’s a young child there with you then charge accordingly. For me a fair price should be £10 per rod or pole, plus a fiver extra for the child being there. £30 for a few hours like fishing or feeder fishing is just too much and we need to be encouraged to bring young kids along. I hope this review doesn’t come across as negative because that’s not the intention, it’s a nice complex with nice owners from what I’ve seen so far. I just think the prices and the pathways and pegs could be looked at a little bit. It’s got fantastic potential to be a superb fishing complex with a bit more TLC. Overall I’d definitely recommend fishing here, and if you’re a specimen angler I’d recommend sticking to the Legends Lake. There’s some lovely fish in there.

I spent an amazing 5 hours fishing at carrs, lovely mature well stocked lakes with lovely looking and pristine fish, barbless hook rule is working well in taking care of the fish, I had a long conversation with the owners son, obviously someone who knows what he's talking about and a passion for the fishery, keen to help out, no negatives at allI finished the day with 20 carp, 5 in double figures and the biggest a perfect leather of 18lb 8oz, I also caught a load of skimmers, roach and rudd when I had a play with my old Mitchell reel and stalking rod, literally a fish every drop! What an amazing place!

Slightly more expensive than other fisheries in the north east but it is worth it. It’s an excellent fishery, the fish are in great condition. I fished here twice this year, the first time was the end of August when the weather was hit. Sweetcorn worked well then. Today was much colder sweetcorn wasn’t working so I tried mussel and also prawn in the margins, I was fishing with a pole and power kit, it was way too light for the fish. I should have broken a heavy rod out. Anyway a great day despite the wind. The fish in the net don’t look that big but the net is 2 feet across at the bottom!

Great place to fish we have fished here 3 times and caught more than 3 fish every time. We have only fished lake 2. Some of the fish are large. I like the fact you don't have to book but maybe a on the same day online payment would be good so cash is not required. The shop is also good.

Great place , friendly people and apart form a few little scruffs who don't clean up after themselves it brilliant , good quality fish as well although not seen anything near the 30lb ones I've heard about but if they are there I may get them one day.

Absolutely spot on! It’s our go to fishery. It is £15 but the fish are well looked after, the nature is cared for and the staff are lovely and there is an onsite tackle shop (it closes at 11am)Plenty of variety of fish :)

Nothing wrong with venue but the type of anglers it attracts is a problem. The last two visits have had me sat next to stoners smoking weed all day without caring about catching a fish, a group basically having a party screaming and shouting while launching in a whole loaf of bread in and others who have no idea what they’re doing throwing a feeder a metre away from your float. All this just ruins your day. I get it’s hard to manage who fishes but this doesn’t seem to be as much of a problem at other venues nearby.
