National Tyres and Autocare - a Halfords company

Although they were friendly, it took them 2 1/2 hours to fit front wheels with new tyres that were pre-booked and paid for in a 1 hour time slot. When challenge d on time they said will only be another ten minutes, when it was 45. I was nearly late for work as a result, not even an apology. Also they left copious amounts of grease everywhere and I am now having to go back as one of the tyres doesn't hold the air pressure. I am going to avoid and stick to tyreweb in cheriton.

Bought a set of expensive winter tyres from here a while back. I went in today to get my summer tyres fitted to be told that they weren't allowed to do that anymore. no discussion barely looked up from his screen. Halford web site doesnt say that they cant.

First time using National Tyres,work done quickly and no problems.

Bunch of cowboys called themselves mechanics. We send the car for a simple diagnostic as the fault code came on the dash, after thier proper check" they said the dpf is blocked

I went there today with a flat because of a pot hole and it was 3.40, and they where ment to still be open till 4pm but I was told they couldnt repair or replace my tyre because they had signed off the computer

I'm writing this on behalf of my 82 year old mum and it would be zero stars were that possibleMum took her car here to have its MOT in February 2023. It passed without any advisories other than slight damage to a FRONT tyreIn May a tyre pressure light appeared on the dashboard and she took it back to have the tyres looked at. She had at that point only driven 345 miles since the MOT.In addition to 2 new REAR tyres, she was informed over the phone that she needed an oil and filter service, new brake discs and pads for ALL 4 wheels, and replacement brake/parking bulbs for both rear brake lights. NONE OF THESE WERE PICKED UP WHEN THIS SAME GARAGE CONDUCTED THE MOT 3 MONTHS EARLIER.As soon as brakes were mentioned, of course she agreedWhen she told me and showed me the paperwork (attached) I visited the garage to complain. I was told that the brake pads were not in the advisory because only a visual inspection was required for an MOT and they were not worn to limit as per the manufacturers recommendationSo how was it that only 345 miles later the disks and pads for ALL four wheels needing replacing at once?And why were the brake light bulbs missed?Either the MOT was poorly conducted (unlikely due to regulations) or this garage have ripped off an old lady to the tune of nearly £1000.National Tyres and Autocare Folkestone....which is it????Update. They’ve admitted that the disks and pads were an advisory etc etc but deny any culpability preferring to blame my mother for agreeing to have them all done….like she knew any better. So I’ll be passing this to Trading Standards. And for anyone tempted to try this bunch out also have a look at their Facebook reviews, not a positive picture

On way home from Folkestone to Durham when suddenly felt car bumping. Pulled over and saw massive chunk of metal in tyre. Limped it slowly (sorry to the cars behind me) to this garage in hope had new one in stock. The man behind counter was brilliant and came out to look at damage and get tyre size. Other lad got keys and took it in. Sat in waiting room and guy came in with offending chunk of metal and informed me was coil spring but not from my car. Phew. Had to get angle grinder to cut it off too from the way wrapped into alloy. Changed tyre, checked pressure in all them, checked lights etc then took it up and down road to ensure all OK. Had me back on the road for my long journey within 30mins of pulling in. Price decent enough (slightly more than up North but i expected it to be down South). Brilliant service, fast and efficient, and friendly guys too. Highly recommended.

Service with a smile, reasonable prices and really went the extra mile today when I needed some replacement tyres (and brake pads). Definitely recommend ☺️

Sadly not happy with the service. My daughter had a service on her few year old car here. Never been a fan of Halfords or National Tyre service centres. Great for tyres and exhausts and having an oil change on an old banger but in my own personal opinion nothing else. Maybe its because Ive worked for Main dealers most of my life and anywhere else apart from family run garages then I have no trust in. If you have a quality newish car then take to a main dealer or a family run business you can trust that has been trading for many years with great reviews.A tip if you take your car here for repairs make sure you get a quote. Never agree to any repairs being carried out unless you know the price first.

I was a bit doubtful because of the mixed reviews on Google, but I decided to try as it's one of my closest garages. So glad I did! I had a problem with my battery and everything was explained to me in a very clear way and the battery changed within minutes! The staff is very professional and extremely polite and the prices absolutely reasonable. Can't recommend enough.
