After contacting a few different architects and getting various quotes, we met Sam and we knew straight away she was the architect for us to help plan our dream extension. We have waited a number of years to be able to make our home our dream home, creating an open plan kitchen and living space and we wanted an architect who would understand what we were trying to achieve. Being complete novices and never having done an extension or submitting anything to planning she helped with the applications. Any tweaks or changes to the design Sam did so. If you're trying to find an architect to plan your extension or home I recommend you to meet Sam.

Sam has helped us from the outset to achieve planning for the development of our bungalow , despite all the difficulties we experienced with the planning department. She has been patient throughout, as the plans have developed, and having just received our permissions we are excited to move onto the next stage. Thanks very much Sam.

Can't recommend Sam enough. She designed and submitted a rear kitchen extension for us, taking into account all that we wanted from our new space and adapting it as required. She came on site to meet us in person, whilst many other companies would only offer a video consultation. Sam is always very quick to respond and helpful at directing us towards our next steps, which we hope to begin next year!

We recently contacted Sam in regards to helping with some plans for a loft conversion. Sam was extremely professional and helped put the plans together to enable we could do the conversion we wanted utilising our space as much as possible. Sam came out and did a consultation and listened to all our plans and ideas doing her best to ensure we were 100% happy with all decisions made. We are now on with the conversion and cannot wait to see it finished - would highly recommend :-)

Sam has been amazing from start to finish. When I contacted her initially I knew exactly what I wanted – a garage conversion and side extension, she understood my vision straight away and was able to bring it to life. Not only that she has helped with all of the other aspects of getting an extension, such as building inspectors, planning permission and even finding a builder. She has been particularly helpful in explaining to me exactly what is needed at each stage of the project which has been brilliant for a novice like me. We had bought a new house and were looking to do remodel it. Spoke to a few architect firms before deciding to go with SJR. Sam was really professional and we just clicked with her from the very start. This was very important for us as well. To work with someone who would understand where we were coming from. She never enforced her ideas upon us. She knew it was our project and she was happy to support us in anyway she could to get us our dream house. She had amazing ideas and pointed us in the right direction to get more ideas for our project. She dealt with the whole process from start to finish very well. As soon as I met Sam, I knew I had commissioned the right Architect - we connected from the outset.I have a progressive condition that has made me disabled. Therefore, we decided to install a through-floor lift and have a one-storey extension at the same time to make our home more accessible. Let me thank SJR Architecture Ltd, Preston for the exceptional service they provided us for our extension to the front and side of the house.I should also thank my builder for recommending Sam (SJR) for the job.Sam is professional and friendly, and she listened to our expectations and ideas before she did a site survey. Took all the measurements and many photos of the existing structure from many angles. Within a week or so she came up with brilliant drawings in colour that gave a clear picture how the extended house would look like and it was all done to scale so could see the look of the proposed extension and proportions in relation to the existing building. Designs were all matching to the house; stone features, brick works, windows etc. so that it looked less like an extension! Sam had many ideas and I was particularly impressed by the roof design she suggested.Sam took care of planning application, and had many discussions with the local authority building control officers before submitting the application, to maximize the chance for its approval.I would highly recommend SJR for anyone looking for an architect’s service in Lancashire.
