Excellent shop with plenty of choice. Have alot of cool merchandise - comics, anime , Pokémon, toys, pop vinyls etc that you can't buy anywhere else, and the shop is deceptively big - has a big floor downstairs as well. Well worth a look.

Forbidden Planet Southampton
As an avid star wars and sci-fi fan this is a great store. Years ago I found it a bit pricey but now with fewer toy shops like toy'R'us I find it quite reasonable and in line or better than online stores.The Southampton store is a little small but still has an ample assortment on its shelves. Set on two floors there is a lift to the lower floor. The staff are nothing but friendly and always cheerful.

Went hunting for some Dragonball Z memorabilia for a birthday present the ither day and Forbidden Planet had by far the best selection out of any if the similar stores in town. A wide variety of products for am equally wide variety of interests, and by far the highest quality out of anything else sold in town, so worth the slightly higher mark up if you're looking for genuine collectors items. It's as easy to find something for your mum as it is for your little brother, as there's quite a few hidden gems that you wouldn't necessarily expect to find. I for one always seem to leave with a new tarot deck, and will definitely be back to buy some of the themed cookbooks!

Staff are unfriendly. They stay behind the tills, and seem unhappy when customers ask questions. The selection of comics and manga looks good, but when you look closer the manga lacks range and is simply bulked out by a preponderance of multiples. Likewise their selection of board games is uninspired. Fundamentally the shop suffers from a lack of good salesmanship and an unwelcoming atmosphere. I no longer shop here regularly.

This place is a geeks paradise, they counter to all tastes and have a wide selection of items for everyone at a multitude of budgets. I was literally stuck for choice, I could easily spend my whole paycheck here, if only I had the space to put it all!

Got my Mini Satoru for 1.99 £ when there is a bargain. It’s my first time to be here but found something I like. Stuff were kind. We have many anime related things here, highly recommended.

A lot of variety. I'd say the London store is better for more niche manga but there is a lot of stuff here. Good even to go around and visit. It can be on the pricey side side they do regular discounts. They sometimes have books out way before waterstones and signed ones at that. A good place to take kids.

Love it here!! Such a lovely community with loads of high quality products. Perfect place to shop if you’re into D&D, anime, comics or video games as they have so much cool merch!!! I come here every time I come into town and by now I know all the staff who are all super kind and helpful!!
