Small car park right on Derwentwater. We visited for an hour or two after 5pm so parking no a problem, sandwiches and watched wind surfers. but I know it gets full quickly most days. National Trust so parking charges high, although Blue Badge holders free.

1 min walk to the water and quite small car park, fits about 10 cars only so go early or wait up for someone to leave!

Free car parking. About a dozen unmarked spaces. Was about half full when I visited on a Sunday afternoon in July.You can walk up the hill to get to Ashness Bridge - about 15 to 20 minutes walk - and then if you keep going for another 15 minutes you'll get to Surprise View which has a magnificent view of Derwentwater. It's a fairly steep walk on road. If you don't fancy that then there's paid car parks closer to both.About half way between the car park and the bridge, there's a path that takes you down past the Hostel to the road. There are some mini waterfalls that aren't especially beautiful but worth a detour if the weather is nice.

Lovely little carpark, quite out the way. Was near a little port decking type area on the beach, was nice to sit there in the afternoon for sunset, was only a very very small walk away!! If u walk up the hill a little (on the left inside the car park) u get a lovely little private view
