Homebase - East Grinstead

Has the basics, staff few and far between, tills often very slow.

This shop needs some serious attention. Looks like this area of East Grinstead has been left at the wayside. Store is in need of a good refresh. Has a good range of products as you would expect. We didn't go to the garden part as we only needed paint. Had some mixed for us and the young lady knew what she was doing so worked efficiently. Car park needs a bit of cleaning and spaces redone. Trolleys are an absolute state almost didn't get one as it looked like a germ on wheels. Not sure why this store has been neglected but hopefully head office can get something done and upgrade it for the young staff members working there.

DIY goods gradually squeezed out by household items. Good selection of paint.

No one queueing for the tills but 15 minute queue to swap a £6 set of light bulbs for a £6 set of light bulbs. Jobsworth?

Cool, it was worth the moment, we found what we were looking for and left satisfied.

Sure going to miss this place for some bits I get there, when it closes its doors finally. Well, I talked to a staff member in Homebase DIY store today, and asked when it was going to become a Lidl there instead exactly. I thought it was supposedly to be late this year 2023. Apparently next year late September will be the date of changes. It will become a branch of Lidl supermarket by years end 2024 apparently. They have a massive range here. And often impossible high prices that make you stop and scratch your head. But there's also unbelievable bargains if you take the time to search out lost leaders super buys when you're instore. I mostly use their handy Amazon locker collection service instore. Good place here too to cheaply get keys cut also. I'm hearing they definitely will be closing doors later on next year however, and a big Lidl supermarket going in there in its place. So need to make mental note to make best use of this great resource while it is still there.Till then I'm glad we have a Homebase store. There's some helpful staff here. There's a great garden plants outdoors section at the back. And there's mega bargains to be had of odds and ends lines they're selling off cheaply. Very impressive things really there quite often.Didn't have much money to spend available today. Went in more to look around a bit at what's there. Saw some things I'd definitely like to go back for when I can do, to buy. Today just bought a one pound fifty green plastic bucket I needed was all. Great value.

Homebase East Grindstead were an absolute life saver in more than one way as you can see from the photos when I found a live electrical fitting that had been covered up by only a piece of wall paper. They had the product that was needed to make safe . The staff there were friendly helpfull and professional.

No idea how these stores survive with the cost of things being much more than wickes or screwfix. So if you want the same product but cheaper always go elsewhere.

Advertise as having a board cutting service but was not available here or the Horsham store as well.

Bath Store used to be good when it had its own store. Now, the range looks very reduced and sorry. No one to speak to at lunchtime.Quickly looked elsewhere... won't be back!
