Good coffee and some lovely cakes. Also some great stuff in the Gallery from the local Thirlby Art Group and more in the rest of the centre from local artists.

I love this place , there's lots to do and the staff are so lovely. The cafes nice too if you just want to pop in whenever. But check opening times , these are a bit precarious. I wish there was a bus service running from Harrogate to Thirsk and back, I don't drive so I'm missing out on attending Rural Arts. I'd love to go regularly.

Fantastic clay head modelling this summer. Met some really lovely people. A pity the cafe is closed at the moment. Another excellent glass workshop previously, making wintery scenes ❄ Everybody is friendly and welcoming and the food isn't half bad when the cafe is open.

Visited here for a Christmas Craft Fair from local producers. It was fab & we bought some unique gifts. The cafe was amazingly good as well, plenty of homemade stuff & fantastic staff. It was so good that, after going for a look around Thirsk, we returned for another drink.

We visited the Rural Arts Cafe and gallery whilst passing through the pretty market town of Thirsk on our way home from a short break in the Dales. It's a good stop off point for a light lunch. There's limited on street parking, so we parked at nearby Tescos which about 5 mins walk away. We ordered homemade soup and it came with a freshly made (still slightly warm) cheese scone or 2 very thick slices of artisan bread with butter. There were 3 choices of soup and we had spicy potato and vegetable. I must say, it was absolutely delicious and very warming. There was a selection of light snacks and wonderful looking homemade baking. The staff were very welcoming. The venue is an 'artsy' kind if place with a little gallery of small-ish items made by local artisans. It's definitely worth a visit!

Sat outside had a lovely fresh scone with jam and a pot of tea for 1, which gave 2 good cups. The staff were lovely. Looking forward to some of the artists and attractions booked in.
