My mum booked for us to dine here on Christmas Day, she had to pay for the meal, at £540 for 4 of us in advance. To then be called on 15th December to be advised our booking has been cancelled as their booking app had double booked. When advised that mum did not use the booking app but called directly they just said that whoever took the booking mustn’t have checked the app. They then tried to say that they had been trying to contact mum for 3 days but there are no missed calls from them, this is the first time they had called and there are no emails. They have successfully ruined our family’s Christmas as we will not be able to get a booking else where at this time causing immense stress. Then to check the reviews on here to see multiple occasions over the past couple of years where they have done the same thing, ruining peoples anniversaries and other celebrations! Really not acceptable! What was supposed to be a way to enjoy Christmas and reduce stress for my mum who has recently got out of hospital after a heat procedure has instead completely ruined our Christmas

We came for lunch on 5th August. The food was outstanding and better than the Michelin starred restaurant we visited for dinner. Beautiful setting and very friendly staff. Thanks especially to Daniela.

A marvellous place, last time I visited prior to the refurbishment it felt dated. It has nplow been spruced up. Parking is of course is easy. The service was good, despite of the large number of people.

Beautiful location but food average and overpriced and very poor service. My drink arrived 30 minutes after ordering and when my food finally arrived it was undercooked and had to be sent back. Very disappointing.

Went there for a meal on a Saturday early evening about two weeks back, the food is really excellent, but it's let down by a mix of highly experienced and clearly inexperienced staff. Overall they were quite apparently understaffed, with it being difficult to place orders or get any attention. We lost the bread we'd paid for as it was cleared just after the starter and we either had too none or too much incorrect cutlery on the table. None was on the table when our main courses arrived and as if to make for it, we were given two sets of knives and forks each to eat one chocolate mousse. Like I said, great food, stunning setting, but often slow and mixed service, sort that out and you're in the Michelin star territory.

A beautiful sunny day made this an unparalleled location, enjoying views over the beautiful grounds and river.Wonderful service from genuinely friendly staff.Our afternoon tea itself was good: very good scones and cakes; the sandwiches though were a little overpowering with their flavours (in particular the beef and horseradish), which made it difficult to enjoy the flavours of the teas themselves.The manager was gracious with the feedback and hopefully a more delicate horseradish flavour will be worked on.A nice touch was the little birthday cake, very decoratively done.Looking forward to returning for an actual meal.

Monkey Island Brasserie & Bar
We had dinner as part of a bed, breakfast and dinner package. The food was excellent. All the dishes looked interesting and good. We had the ox cheek and the duck as main courses. It was my birthday and after the meal I was presented with a candle on a small cake. Service was good and we enjoyed dining there.
