The food is frighteningly bad at the prices they charge. I got the 8oz steak. It was greasy, overcooked (asked for medium rare) yet still somehow cold. The peppercorn sauce was watery with no immediately recognisable flavour to it. The onion rings were greasy, cold and onion inside not cooked and hard. Chips were freezing. That cost £20.It’s actually embarrassing how consistently they produce terrible food in here. I’ve ate here several times as it’s the only option nearby. I’ve never once had anything that was even close to being even average. It’s the only place I’ve been to in recent years where the food has been literally “bad”. The food in Wetherspoons is genuinely better.Yesterday I got the cheeseburger. Patty was cold and dry, the bun was stale and it had 2 cold slabs of unmelted cheese whacked on top. This place has a captive audience and knows that there’s no other real options round about. The owners and management clearly know this and feel like they’re justified in ripping people off.

We saw the chef going in and out of kitchen and helping out the bar area, instead of staying in kitchen making sure the food is cooked properly. The batter on the fish over cooked andbecome rock solid because of this.We saw the manager just go inside the café and left the area five minutes later, five minutes is not enough time for quality control.Only good thing about this café is got a nice view of beach.

Beautiful and stunning views. The lad on the bar taking orders and serving drinks was a bit inept. Lady in the back cooking seemed to be only one keeping it together and working the hardest. No cutlery on table. Food arrived and no cutlery. Asked. He then went for a chat and serve other people. Shame , as a stunning place to have a meal.

Went with sister today as she hadn't been before ,the views are amazing plenty of places to sit ,but the food and coffees a different story ,they really need to learn how to make lattes ,my sister likes lattes this just looked like hot milk with froth on top ,I had a mocha which was basically a hot choc ,mocha has coffee in in ,the best mochas are made by at Costa at Gretna gateway ,so now on to the food my sister had a oanni which was ham cheese and onion , it just looked liked a sandwich cheese wasn't melted properly the salad veg was crudely cut up ,I had a baked pot ,which was meant to be large was looking forward to it ,huh ,It wasn't large it wasn't even a baking pot , aging the cucumber and salad was crudely cut up ,We won't be back there

Lovely resturant but Menu was poor of choices as three lunches were sold out.My order was lost in the process after waiting forty minutes had to change my choice but was OK after that. This puts you off and I ate out at other dining places after that

Unfortunately there's an i in team. The young chap on the bar was doing a superb job .taking orders. Clearing tables.serving customers at the bar. And serving meals. While some staff sat at a table some sort of meeting. The chef rang the bell twice and then had the cheek to pop his head out of the kitchen door to see what the young chap was doing seeing he was busy. Just went back but did not join the team and bring our meals out ..and to rub salt in once our meals had been brought out he then went and sat in the reception.. obviously a busy man..!! Other than that the food was OK the service was very good the young chap doing everything deserves a rise.

Lovely welcome from all staff. Great views across the Solway and tasty latte to enjoy as we sat on the veranda. Lots of space indoors too should the weather not allow sitting outside. We hope to visit again very soon.

Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful setting with the glass frontage and wonderful patio. Sadly it went down from here. When ordering the food at the bar (no table service) the waiter didn't told us they were out of the chicken only to tell us they had got a delivery that morning after checking so it was back on but he couldn't figure out how to put it through the till for some reason. Anyway we paid for our drinks and he said he would get the boss to sort it. About 25 mins had passed and he'd walked past us a number of times (it wasn't at all busy) we asked how long our food would be to which he said very blase I forgot to tell you we don't have the chicken"???? Hardly an apology or have a drink on us. In the end I ended up with a baked potatoes due to 40% of the menu being unavailable. A real shame. We mentioned it to the waitress and reception but again they too were so blasé. One other thing

Popped in for fish and chips, my wife had fish and I had scampi. Both meals were delicious. Reasonable price and the most fantastic views across the Solway.
