Like the rest of Riverside Park, was great but sadly our very poor council have failed us.We had the southampton show, balloon; flower festival, a great fair and market, paddle boat lake at the sport centre, canival, well stock fishing lake on the common where I taught the kids to fish. All pretty much gone or destroyed by underfunding. Now in the interest of community bonding we have the mela festival, Asian carnival processions, gay pride, massive financial support for a loss making Asian sports hall etc but nothing for the majority in the city unless you pay through the nose for music events.Unlike St Mary's & Northam we all have street lights turned off at night. How is this community cohesion if only for one community in our diverse city?

A free car park to then go for a peaceful walk along the river.Sometimes an ice cream van is there and sometimes rubbish is illegally dumped there.

Lovely location but sadly while the sign says the barrier is 2m that's not actually true. My van is 1.95m high and went in ok but scraped the roof horribly on the way out. Use with care if you have a van or camper.

Riverside is quite a large car park with a small children’s play area at one end.Car park does get busy as it’s a good starting point for a walk along Woodmill river. If you cross the road ahead of you there’s a nice walk along to Cobden Bridge where there’s a skateboard park, basketball court and plenty of other activities going on.Woodmill activity centre is a couple of minutes walk away where I believe you can go canoeing or paddle boarding.

We used this on a sunny September weekend lunchtime and there were a few spaces left. It's not marked out. There didn't seem to be an obvious sign for the entrance especially if approaching from the 'bridge side'. Easy pedestrian access to the Riverside once parked. As it's free, no complaints and would use again.
