The Potions Cauldron

As a Harry Potter fan, I was disappointed by the Cauldron experience which didn't look like potion making. We had to just pour the contents of other containers into a glass, and add candy at the end. It wasn't creative or magical. It was nothing like similar potion-making experiences I had previously in London or Edinburgh. We're just here to drink cocktails quickly with other people, before pouring the rest into plastic cups because it's time to leave and no one has had time to finish their tasting. The introduction with the magical and animated paintings was rather long (I didn't understand everything as a foreigner), which didn't leave us much time to enjoy the cocktails at the end.It remains a cool enough experience, but I didn't feel like a witch in potions class.

Visited the Edinburgh store yesterday morning. after purchasing an offer from Wowcher for 2 children. - Which included two photos, two butter beers AND £10 to spend on the shop EACH! The shop was beautifully set out and made us all feel like we had been transported right into diagon alley. You will not be disappointed with the selection of items was that are available or for value for money. I purchased an extra butterbeer for myself and it was Devine! The experience put us all in a really good mood for the rest of the day! As we visited just after opening it was quite quiet but we were taken really good care of. Cant wait to visit the York store next!

Loved it here had a booking from my daughter for my wife's birthday. Had a great time making potions cocktails and having a good laugh with the other couples here too. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something different to do while in York. Staff so friendly and great night was had by all.

The staff was super nice and funny!! It was impossible not to laugh and have a good time.We purchased a butterbeer to go and loved how all the drinks had nice colours or you could spin them and see some glitter inside moving.Great place to try new things or give it as a gift.

A really fun experience. My girls loved it (aged between 2-10). John was our host, and he was great. I would definitely recommend it, especially as the price is really reasonable too!

We went to the Potions Cauldron Adult Experience and it was excellent. We were a group of 3 and we had lots of fun (got a little tipsy too). John was our alchemist and he was brilliant - really engaging and fun. Just the right length of time - would definitely recommend.
