Pip Squeak & Wilfred - Children's Shoe Shop

Superb service! My children always find it difficult to find suitable school shoes but they both left with comfortable, high quality shoes that were expertly fitted. I was so impressed by this shop having previously been unsuccessful in Clarks and John Lewis. Both children are pleased to finally have lovely shoes that fit perfectly!

Please note- this review concerns the Culcheth/Croft shop and NOT the new one in Stockton Heath. I haven't visited the new shop in Stockton Heath.I have bought my children's school shoes from PS&W for many years and have always been grateful for the knowledgeable staff and their good stock of shoes and sizes. However, today's visit, with the shop under new ownership, was a disappointing disaster. The ladies/fitters were really lovely and knowledgeable but to their embarrassment and my inconvenience, there simply wasn't the necessary stock of shoes (not just for us but for other families as well)- so on my return home I had to order from a shop in Kidderminster. If the owner could order stock in, then there would be plenty of customers to buy it- especially school shoes at this time of year. Instead, I had to take my custom and money elsewhere.

Excellent customer service. They must have spent more that 30mins getting correct fitting shoes for my awkwardly shaped daughter. You pay top price, but to make sure they are well fitting and good quality shoes.

I can not praise this business highly enough! My near 13 year old has orthotics and I was dreading the school shoe experience as she had a very clear idea of what she wanted but I knew that wouldn’t be right for her feet. From start to finish this visit to Pip Squeak and Wilfred exceeded all of my expectations. The knowledge of the staff was second to none and my daughter left happy. They just knew what they were talking about. Good fitting school shoes are so important but I don’t know a parent who doesn’t dread the experience. We will come here again and again and never go back to Clark’s or John Lewis. We travelled from Liverpool and it was worth it. Thank you.

Bought shoes from here in the past and always been really pleased. Came when the website said they were open and there was a hand note on the door saying they were shut for the day. Messaged before coming today and they said they were open at 10. They didn't turn up. Don't know how they stay afloat if they're never open when advertised.

We have always bought my daughters school shoes from Pip Squeak & Wilfred however the new shop (under new management I presume) had poor choice and the shoe they did bring out for my daughter (even I could see) was too small! It wouldn’t hurt to be a little more welcoming too! Disappointing after many years of having a great experience at the old shop!

Went to a pre-arranged appointment to buy new trainers, sandals, school shoes and pe pumps for my son. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly professional. Delighted with our new post-lockdown shoe haul.

This new shop is light years ahead of the previous store, with the patience, expertise and personal touch the original first shop had.Staff were just lovely and really took their time with my son. A great selection of shoes and some nice toys ready for busy-body toddler's like mine.A fair bit further to travel but well worth the journey!

I took my 19 month old daughter for a measurement and the staff were exceptional. The selection of shoes was brilliant and the staff could not do enough for us. So pleased with the experience, I won't be going to another shoe shop for my daughter ever again. Thank you so much.
