Olicana Park

This is our second visit to Olicana park and we have booked again for next year. It was a week of total relaxation - beautiful views from the balcony overlooking the Wharf and peaceful. The cabins are a delight, very well equipped, warm, clean and comfortable. The staff are so helpful and accommodating and the on site cafe is brilliant.

We've been visiting Olicana at least once a year since 2018, so that says it all really. The location is beautiful, right by the river, amazing views and the local village withing 10 mins walk is very quaint with everything you need. Lots to explore in the local area too, Ilkley, Harlow Carr, Harewood House, Bolton Abbey, Ilkey Lido, Grassington....the list goes on. Every year we say that we could easily and happily spend 2 weeks here (we usually book a week).The cabins themselves are fantastic (we've stayed in 3 out of the 5) and they really feel like a luxury hotel experience, with White Company toiletries, bath robes, slippers etc. The on site cafe is another log building, which does nice, fresh food at a reasonable price and has a nice buzz, with the outdoor seating area making the most of the river views.I have no hesitation recommending this place to anyone - I think there's plenty for everyone to enjoy. If they sold timeshares I'd have purchased one years ago! :-D

We stayed in Bears Den for 4 nights in early January 2023. When we arrived we were met at the gate to the community by the very friendly Susie and given time to settle in before she came up to check that everything was OK. It was more than OK, it was amazing! The cabins are advertised as luxury and they were the most luxurious cabins we had been in. There was everything we needed and more. The photos on the website are a true insight into what is there in reality. A fabulous view across the park to the hills and moor beyond kept us watching through the picture window for hours on end. A super jacuzzi helped us to unwind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return again when the weather is warmer. I would recommend Olicana Park to anyone wanting a relaxing break.

Another wonderful stay at Olicana Park. The lodges are fantastic; stylish, comfortable and with the added luxury of both a Sauna and a Hot Tub. Perfect for relaxing after a day out in this beautiful part of Yorkshire. The service from the staff is simply first class and everyone is so friendly. The lodges are spotlessly well prepared and there is a really nice welcome in the shape of a bottle of fizz and a home made cake as well as essentials like milk and bread. We can’t praise Olicana Park highly enough. The lodges are fabulous and the service is excellent.

This is a fabulous place to have a relaxing stay. The log cabins are stunning and so comfortable and homely. We absolutely loved our stay. It was so great we have booked again for next year! I will be recommending to anyone who wants to stay in Yorkshire. A stunning place. Well done to the owners who are also very lovely!

While Olicana Park is in a beautiful location, it is a very busy and noisy place.We stayed in a cottage for a week and was woken any time from 8 a.m. every morning!We were adjacent to the busy Hamiltons café, and whilst it was closed on Monday and Tuesday, repair work was being done there from early morning.The cottage itself was tired and in need of redecoration, and a good spring clean! Whilst the facilities were all there; they were well used.A 2-slice toaster for 4 adults was very annoying!Our thoughts were that a lot of effort had been put into the Lodges while the cottages were a poor relation!!Addingham village is delightful, and very friendly. The pubs there produce excellent food and the beer is good.One positive was the Welcome Pack and the tasty lemon drizzle cake! The balsamic vinegar and fine olive oil went very well with the good bread also in the pack.We visited Skipton and Ilkley. With a drop in at 'Betty's '. A nice holiday, but no lie ins!!

This is set in one of my favourite areas of Yorkshire. Beautiful.We stayed in Keepers Cabin which was on the end of a row and felt more private, because of it. Sunflowers and moist cake plus other welcome bits were a lovely touch.The cabin was beautiful throughout, clean, well equipped, everything you could possibly need, including a beautiful view and bunny rabbits.The sauna was wonderful as was the fire.Walkable to dog friendly pubs in the town the Fleece and The Swan both do good food. I preferred the second as more veggie choices.My only problem, which was a shame was the hot tub was too cool, I did at first just think that was the way it had been set, as the man who came to test the water on the Saturdays after we had been in must surely have noticed?We did try to turn it up but couldn’t.On the Sunday I emailed to ask could it be made any warmer, so we could go in Sunday night, unfortunately no one came until the Monday when we were coming home. Apparently it was set inexplicably to 30. That didn’t really help us.I would like to return, but it was a bit disappointing.

Absolutely fabulous! A winter wonderland, I would strongly recommend staying here.Lovely additional touches, everything has been thought of. Great access to the river if you’re fancying a dip!

4 of us stayed in Bear's Den. It is equipped to a high standard with quality items & was clean. The sauna, Jacuzzi, welcome pack & super Christmas decorations made the stay comfortable & memorable

So, what are the key ingredients of a great holiday? For me it starts with the nature of the venue, then it's the quality of the accommodation, and finally the way in which the host/owners look after their guests. I'm delighted to say that our family visit to Keeper's Cottage at Olicana Park near Ilkley delivered a 5 star experience in every aspect. Probably the best UK holiday we've ever had.Sitting in stunning countryside, literally on the Dales Way, and offering fabulous views and facilities for safe walking, cycling, fishing etc. The lodge was equipped with every convenience imagineable, from a private sauna and hot-tub (quality towels, slippers and robes provided) to a fully equipped kitchen ( washing machine, dishwasher, welcome pack etc) and en-suite bedrooms, the accommodation was top notch.Finally, Ben & Susie (the owners) and their team were present, without being intrusive, and always ready to, efficiently, solve any and all issues we gave them.Truly the full holiday package and, like Arnie, 'we'll be back.
