St Mary's Church
Lovely church with a real welcoming atmosphere about it. The ceiling is particularly impressive as are the stained glass windows. The churchyard looks nice to have a walk around unfortunately on the day I visited the weather wasn't up to much. Without a doubt the most enjoyable thing about my visit was being greeted by three lovely ladies who help care for the church, it was a real pleasure having a chat with them and served as a reminder that what really makes these places special are the people who give their time to keep these marvelous historic builds open for everyone to enjoy

The oldest remaining part of this medieval church is the base of the tower, date of around 1250. Much of the rest was built in the 15th and 16th centuries and then restored in the 18th century after Owain Glyndwr's uprising in early 1400s and a fire in 1665. Unusually, the chancel and nave are off-set.Inside are many intricate stone carvings, including the pulpit and two tombs of Earls of Powys. The church is on a hill and most entry points are up flights of stairs. There is a single vehicle entry point but the church itself still has steps into the porch.
