I was recommended to try alchemy by a work colleague. This cafe is one of many in Leigh-on-Sea that is starting to serve coffee from London coffee roasters, which I think is logical as a fair amount of people who live in Leigh on sea commute to London so if you are into artisan coffee you are spoilt for choice. Alchemy need not worry, as the coffee was good. I liked the fact they were happy to serve me even though I walked in 5 minutes before closing.

Simply the best breakfast/brunch restaurant around. Stunning dishes, always fresh and tasty ingredients. Really friendly and welcoming service every time we visit. Their sourdough bread and miso butter is on another level. Great coffee. Easily our local go to

I love this place! Great coffee delicious food that makes you actually feel good. Bright beautiful plating. Unusual pairing for some spice of life. Had the trout and beets with some miso butter on the side. Awesome service too. Definitely would recommend.

Absolutely amazing place, the staff are lovely, very friendly and attentive, the decor is simple and really suits the restaurant and vibe and the food is delicious. The server was just brilliant in the face of quite a few changes to the dishes! I had the salmon and cream cheese with some poached eggs, mushrooms and hot sauce. All of it was amazing, and the hot sauce is great, it has tabasco flavours and you can buy it to take home by the bottle. The restaurant has alot of Korean flavours, and kimchi is great.

The three times I’ve been here, it’s always been 5 stars for me. Great coffee, service, food and vibe. This plays combines great fermentation and pickling techniques in its menu to deliver an altogether different experience that you can’t really get anywhere else in Southend. I now want kimchi with my scrambled eggs always - but they make it themselves. Even when it’s busy, the wait isn’t too long. Recommend a stop here for brunch/breakfast. Looking forward to trying more of the menu!

Amazing coffee, had brunch, food has loads of flavour and you can tell they use good ingredients, the flaw I would say was that the sourdough bread slice was as bit over toasted which made it hard and with the knifes provided it was a bit irritating fighting with the plate to cut. Also, I was asked how the meal was once we had a finished I would of preferred during the meal as I would have definitely asked for another not so hard. All in all, I enjoyed it.

The best. Amazing and creative food, cooked and presented with real care and attention to detail. I've now visited 10+ times and it has been been consistently excellent. The serving staff and chefs are extremely friendly and welcoming and have always been happy to accommodate any requests, the coffee is superb and they have a selection of excellent wines. A wonderful addition to the local food scene.
