Thimble Studios

A few weeks ago I attended the ‘Conquer your Overlocker’ one-day workshop at Camille’s Studio.In the run-up to the course Camille provided clear instructions of what to bring/prepare & precise directions of how to get there. As an older & a slow learner, this information helped me to focus & get ready .For an almost-novice with the overlocker, Camille struck a balance between encouraging independent exploration & being there when needed. The combination of getting to know the technicalities of the overlocker & applying this to to the construction of a simple sweatshirt was incredibly confidence building.The light, spacious studio, combined with delicious coffee & biscuits provided the perfect backdrop for learning!I will definitely be back for more tuition & sewing companionship.Thank you, Camille!

Camille is a great teacher and always inspires me to take my sewing further. I have done 4 courses with her now and each one was fab. Great spaces, really relaxed and informative and with lots of great coffee on hand!! I have thoroughly enjoyed each one and will definitely being doing more in the future.

I attended Camille’s ‘Copy Your Wardrobe’ two day workshop. I can’t believe what we managed to achieve over a weekend - I learned so much and came away confident in my ability to copy garments. Camille creates a warm, friendly atmosphere in the studio, there is ample space and equipment, and always tea and sweet treats on hand! Her tuition was excellent - she gave each of us lots of 1:1 time and explained complex steps in an accessible way. I would highly recommend Thimble’s courses to people at all levels of sewing who are curious to learn something new and be in an environment with others who love to sew.

I attended the beginner 's sewing day and it exceeded expectations. Camille creates a safe learning space, and her enthusiasm is infectious. I will definitely be looking to attend further classes in the future.

I can't say enough good things about Camille and her Courses. Her courses offer an amazing journey through the world of garment making, and I can't quite believe how much I have learned since attending her Dressmaking for Beginners Course a few years ago. This first course got me hooked and a few years on and a few more courses later I am happy to give most things ago. Patterns are no longer a mystery, sewing machine (mostly) behaves and so much has been leaned about finishes, fit and pattern hacking. Camille delivers all her workshops in a friendly and inclusive way, no question is too silly, all abilities, sizes and ages are catered for. There are normally a few laughs on the way too and the atmosphere is always open and friendly. The studio is bright, spacious and well equipped.So if you are making your first garment, sewing stretch for the first time or tackling a more advanced pattern or fitting issue you can be sure Camille has both the experience to help you through and the skills to share that experience in a way that ensures you get the most from your course. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I have attended two of Camille 's workshops and learnt so much. She is patient and understanding. I discovered Thimble Studios via Kate Humble for which I am extremely grateful as am new to the area. I have just booked the flexible studio pass.A day sewing is always a good day.

I m so pleased to have Camille as my 'sewing guru'! I ve learnt so much, greatly improved my sewing skills and ability to make garments that look good and fit well. Camille has such a depth of knowledge, and a passion that is infectious. Just Conquered my Overlocker... a really enjoyable day and I have a new sweatshirtI can't recommend enough!

I attended the beginners sewing workshop and I cannot recommend it highly enough . I had a great day and learned so much . The studio was a lovely space and Camille is just so patient and knowledgeable. I can't wait to attend another course or perhaps get a studio pass .

If you feel worried, or scared even of your overlocker do not hesitate to sign up for one of Camille's classes.The Beyond Basics course which I attended on Nov 9th was a revealation.
