Le Tour du Monde Restaurant, Ventnor

We had dinner at Le Tour du Monde while on holiday in Ventnor. The food was first class and very well presented. After the meal we had a personal visit from the chef to check on our experience. The photos show mackerel starter, Moroccan lamb and chocolate brownie. The scallops, beef cheeks and Korean pork belly was also amazing.

We tried almost everything from the new menu and it was terrifically good. We live in London and regularly go to restaurants and Le Tour du Monde managed to surprise us greatly.Service was top notch same as lovely local ambience.

Ideal location to get without a car. Food was excellent, lovely atmosphere and great hosts. Strongly recommend. Feeling full and satisfyed☺️

We made booking for 6pm. Restaurant contacted us to change booking to 6:45pm. We asked if we can come at 6:50 and they said that we have to come at 6:45pm and we cannot be late…we arrived at 6:45pm as requested and waited over 15 minutes to be served. So we had to be on time and they just made us wait. Other than being pedantic over the timing it was the good night and the food was amazing.Staff didn’t wear a face maskJust quick reply to your response.We checked the menu before we arrived to the restaurant. We changed our mind after we’ve told about the specials.It’s our business what we watched on our phone it’s not to look on our private phone, I think it’s rude. The volume was on and anyway we didn’t hear anything because people on another table were very loud. They were so loud that I couldn’t hear my boyfriend while he was talking to me.

Incredible, incredible, incredible! We were super lucky and managed to get into Le Tour du Monde for our last evening of our holiday after there was a cancellation.I spoke to Fiona over Facebook who happily booked us in and filled me in on all of their current vegan friendly dishes which I was super appreciative of.Throughout our holiday we have been looking for a place to eat where you can tell the food has been made with thought, care and attention to detail, with staff to match, and we found everything and more at Le Tour du Monde last night!The food was absolutely delicious, perfect portion sizes, presented beautifully with a friendly service that just made us feel at home, we also had the privilege of meeting the chef after our meal so we could thank him ourselves.The only negative thing we could say is that we are so sad we didn’t dine here everyday of our holiday, if we come to Ventnor or even just Isle of Wight again we will be travelling back to Le Tour du Monde for another lovely evening.Thank you so much guys!

Did not disappoint. The crispy Lamb starter off the specials menu was to die for! We would love to be staying longer as we'd relish the chance to work our way through the whole menu. Fiona and Lloyd offered a warm welcome and friendly advice on places to visit during our short stay. We highly recommend

The food was amazing, honestly couldn’t have been better. We loved every bite. They were fantastic hosts too, so accommodating and very friendly. We were delighted to get a booking and they really made the experience so great for us. It was the 1st dinner we’ve had out since getting married and we thought it was so fabulous. We would definitely recommend anyone to go here and I do hope we get over to the Isle of Wight again soon. If we do, we will definitely be making another booking.The scallops were so yummy, my husband loved his mussels and we also had the beef cheeks and lamb for main. It was very well presented and tasted so good. The panna cotta is a must try. Thank you so much Fiona for being such a wonderful host and massive complements to the chef. It was such a lovely evening

Great experience! One of the best restaurants in Isle of Wight! We booked Le Tour du Monde after a recommendation from a friend - having learned it was taken over by new ownership we kept our reservation and are extremely glad we did! We are fortunate enough to be able to visit restaurants all over the world and at Le Tour du Monde we had one of the most personal experiences with the owners. They were so warm, welcoming and friendly - it was like visiting family. The food was excellent too which is an even bigger bonus, every dish was great but the scallops were superb! Beautiful presentation. Excellent flavour, seasoning and balance all with great portions and at very reasonable prices. Anyone visiting Isle of Wight would be recommended to make the trip to Ventnor just to go to Le tour du Monde! Their wine menu is also interesting too with stories behind their selections.

Easily the Best restaurant in Ventnor. From start to finish the service was impeccable, from front of house Fiona, to our server Matt (who never stopped smiling all service). Not to mention the fantastically talented chef, Lloyd. We had mussels and a risotto to start which were both fabulously flavoursome. We both chose the beef cheeks as a main which were beyond perfection, you literally could inhale them they were so tender. We then both shared a cheeseboard, full of local Isle of Wight cheese all washed down with a perfect bottle of red. Please do yourself a favour if you're staying in Ventnor, book into this restaurant (and you will need to book as they are very popular), you will certainly not be disappointed.
