Loch Lomond
Loch Lomond has been on of my favorite stops so far. Fun fact it was once part of the sea but is now divided by a land mass.

Recommend an almost wild camping here! During the summer months a permit is needed which when we booked was £4 per tent or motorhome.Car park is 1 minute or less to the pitches.Stayed here late August at the Inverbeg location. There were two toilets open 24 hours and a another set of toilets with cubicles open large potion of the day (can’t remember times) plus an outdoor non drinking water tap.The views from this location in the morning were stunning and there were around three tent pitches directly on the lake. Very comfortable camp, and there was not too many midges in comparison to other locations we camped at.If travelling up to Scotland from London area/south, it is a perfect stop before exploring the rest of the west highlands.

One of the most astonishing lakes I’ve ever visited. The lake has many islands, and I absolutely recommend travelling between the islands using local boat transfer system.

My first visit to this beautiful area was at Easter 2023.I booked accommodation nearby at Dumbarton for my mother and myself to use as a base to explore Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park over the bank holiday weekend. Whilst travelling up we stopped at Cairn Lodge services, deciding immediately that we would also be stopping here on our return journey. The weather was absolutely balmy and so un-traditionally Scottish that I could have done with a pair of shorts!! We only had rain late evening at the end of our last day exploring and for part of our drive back to Cumbria (where rain is the norm too).We worked our way around Loch Lomond exploring the outstanding and beautiful landscapes and wonderful tourists locations, we stopped at a number of eateries and were not at all disappointed. We did the Duck Bay Hotel for an outstanding Mother's Day meal. I have reviewed all of these separately.I would like to make a return visit to explore Loch Lomond by boat and see how the restoration of the Maid of The Loch is going at Balloch.

So breathtakingly beautiful. Sitting inside the cruise recommended due to the cold weather....Clear blue waters, Scottish hills and islands. We enjoyed very much.

Such a beautiful location! After a few days camping in various locations around Scotland I was set on spending my last night by the Loch. After several failed attempts at campsites that had no space I was very kindly directed by Luss camp site to Duck Bay Marina where I had the most stunning view of the Loch and wild camped. It really is beautiful, I would recommend using an insect repellent if you don't want to be eaten alive by the midges
