Everything about our stay here was wonderful. We stayed in the holiday cottage, which was nice and spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff were lovely and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious!! Super close to Bradford on Avon as well as Bath, but nestled in a quiet village. We will be back!

Food and service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, rooms ⭐️. This review is a tale of two halves, the food was really good pub food and the staff were relaxed but very attentive and professional. The seating areas outside were lovely and added to the experience.The rooms on the other hand were awful. Very cramped, and stiflingly hot, but not even a fan to try and cool you down. I (tried to) sleep with a wet towel on my back to Cook me down and it was still too hot. There was a tiny window, but this faces the garden and car park and for some reason has a bright light shining through it so it was bright as day throughout the night. The noise from outside meant it was impossible to sleep and the mattress was as cheap and old as they come. It’s outrageous to charge for a room like this. To top it all, when booking we’d been told it was dog friendly, yet when we arrived they said none of their rooms are dog friendly (although they did allow us into our room with our dog).I’d return for a nice walk and lunch, but I’d advise anyone against staying at the Tollgate Inn.

Recently had my wedding meal at Tollgate Inn.Staff were accommodation,nothing was too much hassle. Food was very good, and big portions.Would highly recommend.

Have eaten here 3 times since moving to Holt. Overall the food is great, especially on our last visit but we have suffered very long waits. Have nearly died of thirst in a pub - which is a real pity as the beer is great, just the table service has been lacking (this appears to be just us when we go as service at other tables at the same time generally appears to be better)

We have always loved to Tollgate after a walk around the Courts. It is still great. Friendly & helpful service and good quality food. It would be nice to have a 'lighter' menu for lunch, maybe a sandwich rather than a burger but what we all had was very tasty. Fantastic malbec!

Stayed here on business whilst visiting clients. I stayed in the Parsley room and the room decoration was to a high standard. I was just let down by the windows which didn't fully close. This wouldn't have been a problem but it faced the main road which was quite busy.

We visited for a family breakfast. The waiter's demeanor was less than welcoming, and he made an inappropriate comment to my 3 year old daughter about the small flower on our table. Due to his poor attitude, we chose to spend our money elsewhere. It's important to remember that courtesy goes a long way.

Driven past here on numerous occasions. Ate there last night and was surprised at how busy it was...you'd never know from the road. Place was buzzing. Food was excellent, as was the friendly service. Will definitely return

Amazing food! We had a very good experience here two nights in a row.We ate the Pie of the day and the calf liver with mushrooms and mash potatoes.We tried different ales but the best one was the local Gem ale and the apple cider.Our first night we came late so we were not in time for food but we had good help from the waitress to order takeout from another location. We also tried some Beer.Our second night was with the chicken and mushroom pie and calf liver which were excellent.Helpfull staff, great atmosphere and delicious food, I recommend this place to anyone who travels through the area.
