The Old Oak Inn
Lovely country pub close to Abbots Wood. Large car park and garden. Good selection of local beers. Nice food and good service. Dog friendly. Recently voted as favourite pub by Argus readers.

A great find. Friendly staff, good range of beers on tap (ale and lagers) and mid priced food. My wife declared her American cheese burger as the best she’d ever eaten. Just mind your head if you visit the toilets, a seriously low door. Will definitely visit again.

Friendly team with food freshly prepared and reflective of the best in British pub food. We will be back - great to see a traditional ploughman's lunch offered on the menu.

Warm, cosy, very traditional (original) country pub that is also very dog friendly. We visited on a Wednesday evening & and it was good to see the pub popular (although it didn't feel busy or cramped in any way). Decent prices on the drinks which was welcome. We didn't eat but the food we saw looked delicious. Oh, and they have free dog biscuits at the bar also!

I came to buy a Christmas tree at Old Oak Christmas trees. The owner was super helpful and we brought the first tree we looked at. Lovely family run business with helpful friendly staff. Will cone back again next year for sure

Excellent meals and good choice. I had Goan curry, very tasty and very filling. My friend had fish and chips - she too said it was very fresh and not oily.

Attended a birthday party. My first visit for many years and they have clearly redecorated the interior quite recently. The buffet was good and the service excellent. A great country pub vibe.

Yikes had higher expectations than what received so that was unfortunate!Service was disgruntled and clearly stressed staff - who seemed to find our table annoying to them (even though we were being quite nice!)The manager even rolling her eyes at me when I asked politely for a little extra lime. Made me feel so small and inconvenient. The roast was a let down considering the hype that it was supposed to be phenomenalMy pork belly had no cracking on it.. just soft chewy pork skin on top with under rendered fat. Truly horrible.Potatoes were hard and tasted like they had been boiled a day or two before Sunday.. leathery on the inside. My partner had the veggie wellington and the pastry was soggy and raw on the bottom. There was no sign of crispy puff pastry anywhere like the wellington usually deserves. On a positive note - the gravy/ jus was delicious, my friend found the beef bourginon amazing .. and the live music coming from the “nicer side of the pub where we apparently weren’t allowed to sit” was a nice touchHate writing a bad review - but this one really has stuck in my mind for a few days

Myself and family were at a day out at Michelam Priory. We fancied a sit down lunch so had a google this pub popped up as the closest. After a quick ring we established that we could be accommodated for our party of five. Within the hour we had arrived, been seated and served with sandwiches which were exceptional. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and on a bank holiday Monday were able to provide excellent service. We shall be back!
