Looking forward to the next Else Networking event in Burton. These Else events are always good, but last month's event was really great. Great venue, great food, great company and great potential for business.Thank you Oliver Buckle for organising it all for us.

I am a fairly new attendee of the Else Professional Network Lunches and have found them to be invaluable in making connections with the right kind of people to develop my new business. The atmosphere is relaxed, there is no pitching for business and the manner in which they are hosted provides the ideal environment to meet like minded people. I would highly recommend anyone that is considering attending to do so, without hesitation.

The Else networking events are wonderful occasions, especially the lunchtime events. Very well organised, lots of friendly people, great networking & a tasty lunch. Always something to look forward to each month.

I came away having spoken to five people who are looking for marketing help and want to talk to me further (including someone I trained about 6 years ago).This was by far the most successful networking event I've ever been to. I don't know how you do it but you attract the right people.

I attended the recent Else monthly networking event in Birmingham - and it was excellent - as always! I usually make great contacts there, and last time was no exception with a couple of useful follow-up meetings. I'm booked in for the next one!

Absolutely shocking experience being the recieving end of dealing with these solicitors. Ridiculously slow, unable to do their jobs properly, an absolute joke of a company and willing to leave a family homeless over a weekend. They aren't specialists in selling a house and decided to take it on anyway.

We initially approached Else to write up and negotiate terms on a new lease for a new business venture in 2017. I was very upfront and on two separate occasions in writing did I state I wanted to make it clear I 'did not' want to commit to their full fees until the construction project was agreed on at the premises. For the main reason that the proposal of occupying that premises rested on the fact we could afford the costs involved in renovating the premises.After many months and three contractors later we came to the conclusion the premises simply required too much work for the budget we had. So we had to abort the idea altogether and continue our search for premises else where.We informed every party involved, including Else Solicitors. However this is where it took a turn for the worst, as Else demanded the full lease fees as a 100% abortion cost. Even though I was upfront and honest about not wanting to commit until the contractors budget was completed and agreed on. This is simple stuff! Who would commit to a lease before working out if the set up costs are affordable? Clearly Else either don't grasp this concept or simply couldn't care less about anything but money!I was eventually offered a reduction in abortion fees but never the less still had to fork out £1,200.00 in fees or face court proceedings and nothing to show for it!Avoid at all costs and go 'Else' where. Excuse the pun.

Else Solicitors represented us via adjudication against a medium to large construction company. The adjudication was my 4th and was relatively simple compared to the others which were more complicated and drawn out. Basically, the fee quoted by Else Solicitors at the beginning was exceeded without any acknowledgement or reason. The process of compiling the referral which is of great importance to the successful outcome was given to one of their trainees who had to surrender it over to one of the directors for final approval at an even higher rate to us). I definitely felt I was l leading the way and was doing the donkey work, I also felt that my trainee was working on other adjudications at the same time as mine and was under a lot of pressure. I have to admit that the adjudication was a success although I believe it would have been with any Dispute Resolution company worth their salt. The total amount sought in the adjudication was relatively low however, Else Solicitors were paid more for their services than ourselves despite the process supposedly being a success. Remember - the referring party will not recover their own legal costs through the adjudication process even if they are successful. They will always say yes to your business because there is no financial risk for them. My advice would be that if monies owed to you are less than £25,000, you will walk away from the adjudication process tired and none the richer. Oh and the losing party will have your company removed from their database within 24 hrs.

As an Independent Financial Adviser, it is really important to know a good Solicitor and feel comfortable that when a client needs a Will writing, for example, you can be 100% sure they will provide an outstanding service.
