Great meal for our farms Christmas meal. From start to finish, the food was first-rate.Returned this weekend for the best fish and chips I've had in years. Don't miss the chance for some great food

Been hear twice both times had a lovely meal. I booked in advance it was busy but quick service. Staff friendly and polite. Would highly recommend. I had a rib eye steak with salad. The steak was cooked to perfection.

Steak and Ale Pie the pasty on the sides and bottom of the Pie was undercooked and therefore very wet. This distroyed well cooked meat and gravy.The service from the waitress was good, marred my the unwelcoming attitude of the guy behind the bar, who I assume was the owner,clearly not a people person, very cold and no customer warmth from him on arrival or at the table.I was expecting a wow factor, I received an unwelcoming attitude, a table that my arms stuck to, decor that had been thrown together, look at the ceiling, fake wood aging stuck on the walls and beer mats and blue tack, followed by substandard food.Once but never twice, very disappointing

The landlord is always cheerful and welcoming. The food is delicious, especially the steak pie which you have to have with the buttery mash. Homemade pizzas are always nice too and highly recommend the Sunday lunch. Great pub with friendly staff and very tasty food.

A beautiful pub in a little village easily accessible from the local antiques compound and from Grimsby. The landlord and staff were so friendly and it was so lovely to have food come out of the kitchen piping hot and fresh. It was a nice change from city centre restaurants where your food can be under a heat lamp for some time. We had the cajun wings to start, a really good sized portion and I had the fish and chips for my main, local fish too. Pub fish and chips always beat the chippy and these lived upto expectations, amazing portions, perfectly crispy batter, and beautiful chips. Would highly recommend a visit. The interior design is so homely and cosy, with a good atmosphere whilst not feeling too busy. Reasonably priced and with a local village pub feel whilst still providing all the modern drinks like aperol spritz ect. Definitely worth a visit and we will be returning in the future. The cheesy garlic bread is a must have side to share around the table.

It was my husbands 60th so quite a large group, the pub was very busy as always, the staff are amazing, they never stop, the food was brought to our table hot and delicious, a mix of carverys and daily menu, they let me bring my own cake which they presented better than i ever could have for dessert. Never a disappointment at the crown. Thank you x
