The Keel Tavern
Possibly the best beer offering in Sunderland from this new venue. Six cask and around 18 keg options from big hitters like Cloudwater, Neon Raptor, Northern Monk, Wylam and Marble along with local up and comers Vaux. That's before looking in the fridge for options in cans or bottles. Well decorated and furnished as you would expect from a brand new venue. Food options sounded nice but I didn't try it on this occasion. A welcome addition to the city. Tip- check prices before your drink is poured as some are a premium price as you might expect if you know craft beer but may surprise some.

Lovely modern stylish bar, however this is another place were prices are far to high, for everything! There is also no way to order from your table with some sort of QR code. Staff are pleasant & polite.

Lovely new bar with a massive range of drinks including craft ales on tap, very reasonably priced too, £10.60 for 2 pints, we didn't have food but it looked very nice so will probably try it on the next visit.

Loved it. Great choice of beers and lagers. Hells and peroni are my personal favourites. Like the way it's been decorated. Really cozy. That end of the Town is really improving. Haven't tried the good yet.

The Keel Tavern, in Keel Square, has quickly become one of my favourite haunts in Sunderland.Lovely staff, lovely food and good beer.A lovely environment in a beautiful new building.It’s classy!A big shout out to Abby, who first welcomed me on my first visit to the Keel Tavern and to Andy the manager.Their friendliness and excellent customer service is second to none.The other staff members are clearly professional and love their job.Abby has an infectious Yorkshire dialect/personality and clearly loves her job and is great at looking after those who call in for a pint and food.All staff are smiley and welcoming.There’s always good music playing in the background but it’s not too loud.Congratulations, to all the staff, on a fine opening few weeks for the Keel Tavern.
