Last Thursday I came in with a couple of mates, Ollie served us, he was very knowledgeable with the real ales. Great humour. Lovely atmosphere. Would love to go back.

A proper pub, with proper beer (and cider). One of the best places in Plymouth to meet with a few friends for pint and a chat, or if you’re around at the weekend, catch a band. Great staff - very efficient and very friendly. Pop in for a quick one, or settle in for a few hours. You’ll love it.

Excellent real ale pub, amazing choice and well kept ale. Plenty of seating, a proper boozer. Friendly staff happy for me to sample a beer before purchase. Definitely one to check out if in Plymouth.

Chosen as a fairly central location in Plymouth for an old boys get together.Just a great venue... what I'd call mature drinkers bar, relaxed environment and eclectic mix of people.Although I drank little, the overall verdict on the choice and quality of beers was, Brilliant!""

Traveled further than intended due to all Crownhill/Eggbuckland pubs closing at 22:00 but was rewarded, as always, by the Fortescue and a great pint of Hanlon's stout. Thank you Fortescue for rescuing what was looking like a disastrous evening.

Good pub with a great atmosphere and a number of unique and interesting elements. Comfy snug seats and a restaurant downstairs. A little bit tardis.

Nice friendly pub with friendly staff and a variety of ales and ciders which are always in excellent condition. Choice varies from week to week. Discount for CAMRA members. Food not served but can be brought in and consumed with a drink. One of my favourites.
