Backs Etc. Manual Therapy
I initially worked with Sue in order to treat a long term back problem. Through adopting a holistic approach, Sue was able to locate the historical and fundamental causes of my issues rather than just simply providing temporary, localised treatment.Currently, I am working with Jack on functional movement and strengthening to further treat the issues discovered in the appointments with Sue. Most of the exercises revolve around proper breathing and core exercises and I have already noticed a difference! The crucial aspect is how Sue and Jack's combined approach allows a thorough diagnosis and treatment to be followed up with a tailor made strengthening strategy which will help prevent the problems recurring in the future.I would absolutely recommend Sue and Jack!

Although I practised yoga and exercised regularly I suffered from chronic neck and shoulder pain for 2 years. After extensive visits to other osteopaths, physiotherapists and doctors, I finally found Sue. Before my first visit to Backs Etc. the pain was agonising, but the first treatment and breathing exercises relieved my pain drastically in the first week. Until I met Sue I had never heard of NKT (Neurokinetic Therapy), but the therapy along with the daily exercises, have meant in 3 months I’m pretty much pain free.No other treatment managed to reduce the pain, and significantly increase my range of movement, the way this has. Sue explained everything in a way which was so clear and I have learnt so much from her in this short time. My visits with Sue have become less frequent, and following her plans I know in another month all the pain will be gone for good.I would recommend Sue to anyone!

I've been a patient of Sue's for over 6 months now and the changes have been nothing short of miraculous.I've seen plenty of osteopaths in trying to rehab from a torn ACL and the associated complications, but none apart from Sue have got me back to the state at which I'm back lifting weights and playing rugby again. Sue doesn't rush you through your session, takes care and consideration in finding a solution and gives me plenty to help improve away from the treatment table. I'm no longer waking up in pain and its all down to Sue!The fact that she's the best value around helps too!

I went to Sue with recurring back pain that meant if I did any kind of exercise I suffered for days afterwards. Through her knowledgeable and meticulous approach she was able to identify the problem and through targeted treatment and easy to follow exercises affect a cure. I'm happy to say it's made a huge difference for me, and I can now enjoy running, cycling, hiking, going to the gym relatively pain free! And because she is so good at explaining what is going on in your body, what to do and what not to do, I now have a greater understanding of how to avoid pain in the future. Thank you Sue!

I went to see Sue because of a number of ongoing niggles especially pain in my elbows when doing exercise. Sue's treatments have been really helpful - it was clear to her that the pain was a result of issues with my core and posture which she has helped to address through a number of exercises. As well as the pain my elbows being greatly reduced I also feel so much more upright and open across my shoulders and upper back than I have done ever since starting office based work 10 years ago! What I found really good is Sue's holistic approach and the time she takes to work out what's really underlying the issues. I would highly recommend her.

Sue is the best Osteopath I have found and I have been to quite a few in London. Her holistic approach means that you don't just get manipulation in your problem area, you get a whole body treatment with a range of different techniques including acupuncture if you need it. I would, and have already recommended Sue to a number of people and she is my go to lady when I have a niggle! I went to her in chronic pain (I could hardly sleep) in my shoulder, neck and back after a cycling accident. I felt much better after the first session, and continued to see Sue for further treatment. I now see her every 6-8 weeks or so as part of general maintenance for my body. Sue is worth every single penny. Don't suffer with pain, get yourself back to your full health!

I initially started seeing Sue for multiple, chronic issues that varying other therapies had not helped progressively. I was rather desperate when I went to see Sue as surgery and injections seemed to be my future. Within 3 sessions I started to see improvements and had significantly less pain. Day to day tasks had become easier and I was sleeping better. It's been a journey and I have learned alot, the homework Sue sets is great and gives you a better understanding of what Neurokinetic therapy is. In addition to seeing Sue I have also started sessions with her Husband, Jack. He is helping me rehab and strengthen my body. This reinforces what Sue is working on and allows me to keep progressing further. The team effort that Sue and Jack continue to put into the sessions I have is brilliant. The combinations of techniques and knowledge is allowing me to make real progression, I feel stronger each time and understand my body far more that I did a few months ago.I don't live locally but the travel time if defiantly worth it. I can't recommend both of them highly enough. A great place to start if you are suffering with chronic problems that never seem to get better.

There is no doubt in my mind that Sue is truly world class. Her diagnoses / administered treatments / prescribed exercises have been a revelation for my health. After 3 knee surgeries @35YO and still in pain, with my athletic background quickly becoming a distant memory, Sue has shown me an entirely different way of understanding my body, so much so that I am now competing again at an international level. Her methods are far from mainstream, I encourage anyone who has persistent issues with their body, having had surgery or yet to go under the knife, to somehow get to see Sue, as she will look at things in a very different way to others. Her attention to detail and enthusiasm has not cooled despite seeing her monthly for over a year, where so often with other therapies the interactions and treatments can get lazy and presumptive. I have seen her for so long as I keep pushing the boundaries of my knee, and she reigns in my subsequent compensations. Her ability to establish where and which compensations have developed recently, which are manifesting as pain, is extraordinary. She seemingly understands the body in a unique way, as I couldn’t find treatment this effective anywhere else. It’s not witchcraft, your homework from her ends up being prescribed exercises that aren’t especially off-piste, but the finding the root cause, and the emphasising of the exercise specifics is next level, and far from conventional.I expect to be a patient of hers for at least as long as I continue competing, I hope she doesn’t stop seeing patients to make time for coaching others in her methods. In short, lifestyle-saving unorthodox and passionate treatment.

I have visited Sue a couple of times recently due to experiencing back and shoulder pain. She identified the problem and I have since been feeling much better. Sue also gave me exercises to follow at home to help prevent reoccurrence and advised me on things I can do to prevent developing issues in the future. I was very impressed with her knowledge and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Backs Etc. Manual Therapy
I have had a history of back pain for 25 years and have tried numerous treatments with different practices. Two years ago the pain was so bad that surgery was suggested, but following MRI scans and pain therapy I decided to continue with treatment. Little improvement was achieved and in January of this year I was recommended to try Backs Etc. Sue has been fantastic and my level of pain has decreased week on week. She listens to my issues and concerns and totally gets what the problem is. She does set a lot of homework" and quite intense home exercises-but this is definitely worth following.Recently I have progressed to seeing Jack and concentrating on a tailored exercise program to improve my movement and further decrease my level of pain and increase what I am able to do pain-free. Both Jack and Sue place a huge emphasis on the importance in breathing correctly and good movement and they work this into both exercise and daily life.I would highly recommend both Sue and Jack and it is great that it is a "one stop shop". They work together and come up with the most suitable plan and regime"
