Durham bus station

My first time visiting the bus station since lockdown. What a muddle the place is and it as dirty as ever! Sanitation of the whole area and busses well below standard and grubby. Are we really participating in a pandemic!!

Perched above a tight loop of the River Wear is the spectacular sight of Durham's massive Cathedral and ancient Castle, proudly dominating the city's skyline. You cannot fail to be impressed by these wonderful views or wander through the cobbled streets of the city centre and soak up the atmosphere of this noble University city. We are now approaching Durham Bus Station which is the main stop for the city centre and if you are leaving us here, please make sure you have all your personal belongings. Why is it going to take 1 year to the new bus station only take 6 months.

A shambles and the toilets are always out of order

Another bus station clone, definitely a copy of South Shields bus station, only 1 star as the design and building is out of place for Durham, very disappointed in how they've copied such a building‼️Would give it 4 stars, just the copy of the building has knocked it down to 1, as for location, another star lost, having the bus station here causes problems on North Road, so many times I've seen busses crashing into bollards, absolutely embarrassing for a city to have this flaw!

Just used the toilet and nearly got sideswiped off it. Without any warning a mechanical arm comes out to clean it. Absolutely lethal! Luckily I had my wits about me, and managed to jump out of its path, but I still got absolutely soaked! There are no signs to tell you to expect it, or even how the door lock works. Really folks! I dread to think what would happen to an elderly person if they couldn't get out of the way in time!
