Hazeldene Residential Home

Very friendly, caring staff.

We did not have a good experience of this care home. Our loved one was left with food all over his hands and table and face from the day before, and was unshaven and not listened to. Some staff were caring, but others behaved as if every request was a burden to their shoulders. Some staff were passive aggressive, leaving our loved one to feel as though they were being a nuisance just to ask to go to the toilet. This led to even worse consequences. It was awful to see the degradation in my family member. We have since moved to another care home with much better results. I would honestly say that Hazeldene were neglectful.

Lovely Staff, great management. Well run and friendly environment

I had to move my father to Hazeldean as sadly the one he had been in for the last 3years was closing. A choice I will regret forever.He fell out of bed 3 times in 3 months, despite our requests for crash mats and roll off bumpers to always be in place these where very rarely used. The crash mat sometimes not even in his room and the triangular foam anti roll off bumper would be on top of the wardrobe.I would often find him unshaven with the remains of his breakfast down his front. More often than not his water jug would be empty and it always came has a surprise to the carers when I questioned it.Despite my father having plenty of clothes I would also find he was dressed in other peoples clothes. Sadly I will have to live with the decision I made to move him to Hazeldean.
