I can’t praise the coaches especially professor Tom highly enough. They are so kind, patient and nurturing through their teaching skills and are always so welcoming. It’s also been nice to see kids and the parents make lovely friendships in the groups, I hope my son continues this sport for many years to come.

My experience here with the instructors and other students was a great one, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and I felt welcomed. The price is high but justified if instruction was the only factor.Shady payment collection companies is a big red flag however... Debit Finance Collections Plc is a company with 1.3/5 on trust pilot with 60% 1 star reviews.I wouldn't recommend spending your money here at all until they can sort this.I'm lucky to have sorted this before interest got out of control but there's stories about this company chasing people for ridiculous amounts.And I thought Jiu-jitsu was a force for good!

When I signed up at Gracie Barra at the end of one of many lockdowns I was 105kg, today I'm 79kg. Whether you just want to lose weight and get in shape, gain confidence, or just learn Jiujitsu, you won’t regret giving it a go!The people at GB York and the atmosphere they create are amazing✌

As a student in York I end up travelling across the country and therefore end up experiencing quite a few BJJ gyms. GB York sets the standard for a great gym and has great teaching from all of the coaches who are patient and skilled.The culture at the gym is also great, have never had anything even close to an unpleasant roll with anyone in the gym. The best place to go for BJJ in York, easily accessible by bike, bus or car.

Amazing club with incredible instructors. A great community which is very welcoming. Would recommend to anyone wanting to start BJJ.

My 7 year old daughter started at Gracie Barra York in January this year and absolutely loves the sessions. The coaches are all great and she was welcomed from the start. Joined for 5 months then gave my notice. Debit finance PLC are now hounding me for for 6 months plus interest for the remainder of the 12 month term. I did not sign up for 12 months I could give my notice after 16 weeks.DO NOT JOIN UP YOU WILL BE HOUNDED WOTH FAKE CONTRACTS.

Tom and all the other coaches hold a vast amount of knowledge which is delivered in a super easy and structured format. Community at the club is second to none. Everyones open to sharing skills and techniques with good vibes post session/roll.Couldn’t recommend enough!

Absolutely first class black belt tuition, really friendly environment plus loads of people to train with all wanting to get better. By far the best BJJ gym in York.
