Some years ago, I had Sparks Marine Trimmers fit a replacement sunshine roof on my boat. The quality and the service was first class. Moving on to the present day and with the next generation of management, things, quite frankly are deplorable! Last July (2022) I asked for a complete replacement canopy and sunroof for the boat. I was advised that it would be done by October. In November when I hadn't heard from them and it hadn't been done, I enquired as to why that might be. Given the ensuing bluster, it was evident that I'd been forgotten but they did promise to get on with it forthwith. In January of this year, I received and paid an invoice for £2400. Imagine my surprise when I next went to the boat to see it hadn't been done. My first thought was that they'd done somebody else's boat and I'd paid for it. When I spoke with Liam again to find out why they'd invoiced me for work that hadn't been done, he said Oh we don't expect you to pay until the work's been completed". "OK so why did you send me an invoice?" "That's just the way we work". Huh? Seems like a scam to me! You issue an invoice for work that hasn't been done and get paid for it. It doesn't need too many people
