Irwell Chambers East

I stayed here for 12 months whilst working in the city. The location was perfect, the apartment was clean and modern and the staff were really friendly and helpful.Would definitely recommend!

1 star is extremely generous. Lived here for 6 months - worst 6 months of my life. The place is a shambles, leaking taps, noisy boilers, mouldy walls, cracked windows. We were originally shown a newly furnished flat and then sold a dream ours would be the same - NOT the case. Considering the money the family who own Irewell chambers have its beyond sad that they’re happy for others to live the way they let us. Could not care less about the state you’re living in and couldn’t be any less helpful. I would avoid this place at all costs even if it was the last place on earth to spend a night. Rooms are ok but wifi is pathetic and when i came the heater was also not working properly ,i called them after waiting for some around 2 hours but they told it would take time as the temperature outside is too low.I have tried to contact so many times regarding wifi but no solution.The location is ok but apartment was bit dirty as well ,would suggest not to book it in any case.

- black mould on all the walls and windows- place is a construction site, said the lift would be done in October 2020 and it’s still not- fire alarms go off most days at 3am- one time there was an ACTUAL fire But they didn’t go off?- windows didn’t shut properly and got damp, creating more mould- heaters didn’t work and fell off the walls which nothing was done about for the entirety of winter and then we moved- landlord didn’t reply to almost all messages. Cannot stress how nothing was fixed. No higher ups or building manager so you have to rely on him and he simply does not care- front doors have no security and neither do mail boxes so we had our packages and personal documents stolen several times- constant pile of rubbish outside the door in the alley way at all timesWould have moved out earlier if not for the contract ( which the landlord also didn’t send until the day we had to move in ) and would never go back. Seems nice as the location is good and the landlord seems very nice, just not able to run an apartment building at all. We spent a lot of time trying to fix the issues ourselves with the help of a neighbour.

We have lived in Irwell Chambers for over 2 years, we re-located to Liverpool and wanted to be near the city centre.The location is ideal, reading some of the reviews i see most people agree though some complaints about the noise ! well you are close to the city centre but saying that we have lived here and had no issues with noise as whats so ever.Most if not all of the reviews are based on short stays only which was managed by a totally different company that sub-let many of the apartments for weekend stays , however i know that this company caused so many issues that they have now been terminated from this contract and that the current owners have taken all these apartments back and running all rentals/leases themselves.And are managing them with a completely new team.The building has just gone through massive investment which has involved total new decor throughout and new improvements to the building including refurbishment and new high specification apartments being added.The apartments are very modern/welcoming and homely and on long term lease very good value for money.Moving to Liverpool and not knowing the area choosing Irwell Chambers was the best call we made , not just because of the location and the standard of the property but the fact the other tenants are very welcoming and make you feel part of a community.We have made lots of new friends , and also the maintenance team are very friendly and accommodating. Any issues always resolved.So if your looking for a safe/modern/friendly place to live very close to the city centre i would definitely recommend here.Steve

What an odd place, door was broken from the start, you need to give some phone calls for some staff to appear and the owner lives there but doesn’t do anything about it, instead he’ll be watching the windows from down stairs to see what people are doing inside! He came up to our door after an hour or so and knocked very hard saying we were smoking weed and he is going to call the police. We don’t smoke :)) Really strange and unprofessional, firstly I thought he was a street guy trying to rob us :)) Oh and if you are into fire alarms ringing every morning this is the perfect place, workers inside will wake you up early so don’t bother setting on your alarm:))

Do not book this for absolutely no reason. Old horrible flats with terrible mattresses and not clean at all. When we arrived we realised that the heating was not working in the bedrooms so called to have it sorted. We were told that the heating was working earlier and to check the flat next door which was empty and unlocked but could not turn the heating on there either. When we tried to call back they could not pick up the phone. The final response after several attempts was that there is nothing wrong with the heating and there is nothing they can do at 11 pm but we can either stay without any heating or we can check out, at 11pm, and get a refund! There are far better places just around the corner, don’t bother with this one.

There is not a lift! They will tell you its in maintenance. But it's just an empty lift shaft filled with literal trash. The landlord is dodgy af and didn't register the properties so air bnb landlords who never see the place have taken over and market on a bunch of lies.

Lived here for 6 months. Among the worst six months of my life. Landlord is a joke, will take your rent but will do NOTHING, literally NOTHING without being practically harassed. Lazy sod required two weeks of badgering just to get our contract signed! Another two weeks just to get a water meter reading. NEVER fixed the light in the living room despite saying it would be done before we moved in. NEVER fixed the fire alarm which goes off at least once a week. NEVER fixed the closer on the front door thus creating a fire hazard. Building is still a construction site with all the attendant noise. Many rooms have less privacy than a prison cell thanks to being an awful conversion. Hot water- isn't. Water pressure is non existent. Quality of internal electric wiring is dubious.Spoke with other tenants who reported the exact same experiences with the landlord. Lazy sod who does NOTHING to earn the rent.You can do better than this. Do not live here, not even short term. Truly one of the most appalling rents I have ever had the misfortune to sign up for. DO NOT give this man your money. He doesn't deserve it.
