The Animal Health Centre

Despite not being registered there, we took my brother-in-law’s dog in an emergency situation, and the staff were all fantastic. So kind and empathetic. Hendrik (vet) was so lovely and calm, popping in to reassure us even though he was dealing with other booked patients. He was very busy but never made us feel like we should’ve gone somewhere else. The swapping of records so we could take Buster to his registered vet was very efficient and they talked us through the whole procedure, very clearly and calmly. We felt very looked after and just knew they were extending the same (if not more!!) care to our precious dog :)

We have 8 cats registered with this vets, and can't say enough positive things about them.We usually see the owner of the practice, Hendrick. He has a lovely, calm manner with the cats - even the naggy one and the shy/spooky one. A couple of the cats need to be held firmly by their scruff if they're having things like temperature taken, but before doing this, were always asked if we're agree to have the cat scruffed. We have seen another vet there too, Rebecca, who is also great with the cats.We moved to this vets from another popular Shrewsbury vets, after having some doubts with their work. We're so glad we did! At that time we had a very sick cat (Tika), who Hendrick diagnosed with severe asthma. Thanks to Hendrick, we had another happy 11 months with Tika, when we thought we were going to lose him when we moved vets. When the time came to help Tika over Rainbow Bridge, Tika, my partner and myself were all handled with great care. They made an awful time as comfortable as something like that ever could be.All the staff here are great too. All very friendly and approachable. The place is always extremely clean and tidy.As you can tell from my positive review, I would, and have, recommend this vets. I truly believe that Hendrick does his best for his animal patients, rather than (as some vets do) doing his best to line his pockets with cash. I have trust in his opinions, which is vital with your vet.Just wanted to add that we're still as happy at this vets now in May 2022.

Absolutely fantastic. All the staff here are so warm and caring towards myself and my pets. I recently had to make the difficult decision for my beloved cat to be euthanised, and Hendrik and the team were so supportive. Thank you to all that work here, you are truly lovely people.

All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Our pet had to have surgery back in December and felt that he was completely in safe hands.

Excellent service. It certainly gets busy so you may be waiting in a que. However the difference in price between the local vet and here made it more affordable. Double hernia op on chihuahua. Dog is healing well. Had support phone call to check on her. Excellent service

We have had pets for the last thirty years,and have lived in many parts of the UK and overseas. We can say with one hundred percent certainty that Hendrik is the best vet we have ever used. He and all his staff are caring, patient, kind, happy and pleasant. We never feel hurried at an appointment, and the surgery itself is spotless. A couple of weeks ago we had to make an emergency appointment for our (fourteen year old) Golden retriever. As Hendrik was booked up, we saw the new vet (sorry forgot her name) who was lovely. Sadly, our dog had to be put to sleep, but it was all handled wonderfully. Imagine our surprise when we received a sympathy card in the post from Hendrik.Please use this centre. It is awesome.

Hendrick and his team are kind, caring and very compassionate people. Our experience of them has always been excellent, and whilst we have moved out of the area, they are still our go-to vets in an emergency when our dogs are visiting Shrewsbury. Highly recommended.
