I had a telephone job interview today. On my CV, under interests I put about spending time wedding planning since I’m currently engaged.The interviewer asked me if I’m still planning to get married. I was taken aback by this and checked that that’s what he was asking. I laughed it off and said of course. He said “good” and that it was to gauge my “stability”. Upon inquiring to the firm, I was advised that they were using it as a talking point however the context and rationale provided suggested otherwise.It felt uncomfortable to be asked this and I hope this company becomes more mindful of the protected characteristics when interviewing future candidates.

Its not easy publishing such a high end B2B magazine in this market, but i find this to be of great interest given its central focus on Midlands business, which I don't get elsewhere. As I am a business owner, I also find the articles to be full of ideas but also primed with a real understanding of how to balance risks and rewards. My sales director said that he 'reads this because its like 'investing in yourself and your business'. Though I have not advertised here so far, I am likely to do so. Thanks for the hard work.
