Avis Car Hire - Aberdeen Airport

I rented a car in Aberdeen for a single night, returned the next afternoon; full to full. Friendly service and helpful staff. Easy process for collection and drop off. No hassle, no drama. Car was clean. I'll be going to them for my next car rental.

Avis Aberdeen - have rented from europcar and national before but this was the easiest and slickest collection and drop off - no high pressure up sell - friendly staff - will defo be using again.

Very easy to pick up car from this location as it is very close to the airport terminal. The car was ready when we arrived with no waiting time.On returning the car there was an issue with a missing voucher. The very kind and helpful service agent had to look into the matter after the weekend, when his boss was back. This he did as promised and after fixing the issue, he phoned me at home in Denmark to inform me of the status. I'm very satisfied.

All was arranged when we arrived and when we requested some changes, not only was Kamilla helpful and very personable, our price actually went down! That’s even with added full insurance.2 days later, we had a flat tire. We called Budget and all was taken care of as soon as possible. All pleasant and worked with one aim-of getting us back on the road quickly and safely. Within 2 hours we were on our way.Two musts for renters however…an upgrade isn’t always best depending on the type of driving you will be doing…(Bigger car than you are used to, on narrower roads than accustomed to.AND if on the opposite side of the road!)BUY THE MOST INSURANCE YOU CAN! An extra couple of hundred dollars saved us not only money, but the stress of agonizing over how much the flat tire repair was going to be!!Will be back Budget!

Had a terrible experience with Avis Aberdeen. Was given the wrong car. Then provided no help in terrible weather conditions trying to install 4 different child seats. Was sold insurance with absolute no knowledge. Made a complaint on return and was told this would be fixed and I would get a refund. Never got a refund or call. Horrendous customer service. Will never use again. Avoid!

A lot of time lost trying to locate my National Insurance number when trying to access my car.As that was such an important item to have to hand before I could pick up the car, that could have been made clearer in correspondence, expecially in the last email I received (below) to say I had successfully complete Avis Quick Pass.When you arrive, follow the Avis QuickPass signs. We’ll ask you to confirm your identity, please make sure to bring the following:UK domestic renters• Driving licence and payment card• Your DVLA licence code (if licence was issued in England, Wales or Scotland).• Proof of address (dated within last 3 months)

Arrived in middle of storm babet. Car provided had no rear windscreen wiper. Was unsafe to drive in rain. Was told no other car was available to replace it

Really smooth pick up and drop off. The car (a fiat 500 Hybrid) we were given was practically brand new. It was great fun to drive.After we returned the car we noticed a mistake on the final bill. I got in touch with the Aberdeen office and was really impressed by how they handled it. I got to email a real person who was able to use their own judgement to refund the amount we had been overcharged. I don't mind when mistakes happen - what matters to me is how companies handle them, and in this case David at the Aberdeen office went out of his way to sort it out quickly.UPDATE: After checking my credit card statements I found that the promised refund never turned up. I have taken one star because I had to email them again to chase. If I have to follow this up again then I'll come back and revise it down to 1 star.UPDATE: another week past and still no refund of the spurious extra charge, despite them saying it is a mistake on their part. Apparently some random delay processing the refund. I'm starting to wonder if there isn't a policy of adding random extra charges in the hope that customers won't bother to chase them, or will give up when chasing them takes weeks. I will keep revising this review and removing stars until they cough up.

I would definitely use Avis car hire again. The staff were friendly, the pickup was quick. Our agreement was quickly explained to us and we signed for it digitally. Cosmetic damage they were aware of on the car was highlighted to us so we did not worry they were think it was us upon return. A full tank of petrol was provided. The car was clean. Drop off was easy as there was a key drop box for us to leave the key as we were leaving Aberdeen early.
