Picked up some oak sleepers, couldn’t be happier with the service and the product.

Bought Oak sleepers from here and had them delivered . All the sleepers were mostly in bad condition and 4 of them had wood worm in them. Took the 4 sleepers with wood worm back and asked the old guy in the yard if he could replace them. He was reluctant to exchange and tried to fob me off saying it wasnt a defect and that all the sleepers have wood worm as it was normal. Eventually he said he would replace it but then started huffing and puffing like he was annoyed that he had to replace them. I had previously cut one of the sleepers before noticing the wood worm, so when the old guy noticed this he angrily said how he would not be able to sell that sleeper again. Beware when buying from this company as you may get my old sleepers with wood worm.

Don't worry about negative review, fast service, ripped and cross cut big oak sleeper in no time, even dropped it right by the car, best price locally, only found as usual timber yard didn't have stock, will be back.

After searching the internet for suitable beams I found by chance A.Hingley & Son which was not only close to my site but the service and prompt delivery was very welcomed. I need some more beams for a project I am undertaking and will definitely use them again....Very satisfied

I too bought sleepers from this company and they couldn't have been more helpful.I did have to wait a few days for the timber to be brought in from France.On arrival they even sawed them in half lengthways for me at no extra cost.When I went to collect them, they loaded it all on my trailer for me and even GAVE me some large oak timber offcuts.Definitely recommended.Thank you guys

Today my husband and I turned up at this woodmill to buy three pieces of wood. Not alot I admit but in this day and age any customer should be welcomed. We went into the sales office to enquire and the best welcome was the two dogs.....We we,re told to go and see Dan......This where the welcome went downhill further.....not sure if Dan was having a bad day.....but his attitude was frankly shocking ......He obviously did,nt want to be bothered to help....but on numerous suggestions from my husband to leave it , continued to stomp around looking for the right wood. Eventually finding it , my husband paying for it .....which y the way we we,re really pleased with the price, and has Dan walked away , his last comment was .....next time phone first. Believe me there won't be a next time. All this and my husband was still polite and just walked away.

Helpful, friendly & knowledgeable staff who were able to answer my queries and arrange my order without fuss. My orders have been ready collect before the previously stated schedule on both occasions I've used this merchant. The timber I received was of excellent quality, cut to exactly the dimensions I specified and a delight to work with. I would deal with Hingley's again in the future.

Very dark and tight quick load and pleasant flt driver. Be much easier to find in daylight
