Great staff and great products!!!! Highly recommended!!! I have just had a lamb and mint burger, cooked it on the grill and oh my gosh... The smell of it cooking was amazing! The flavour was spot on! I look forward to trying something different next week!!

Rump steaks and beef fillet chateaubriand arrived frozen, not fresh, and the order was incomplete. When I complained I was told it was not their fault. I asked for the rest of the order to be sent and they have ignored my emails ever since. Not a great incentive for a first time customer to buy again! Very Very Very disappointed. Thanks for nothing, Jack and Charlie Cook! Hope Lizabeth and Stephen are proud.

I was visiting a friend in Devizes recently and I wanted to buy something nice we could cook later that day. My friend recommended Walter Rose butchers. Upon entering the shop I was faced with, I presume a manager shouting very abusively at what I could gather was a younger member of staff? The larger man was shouting and using very abusive language. Needless to say my friend and I left the shop without purchasing anything, my friend, who used the butchers frequently, said she would never use the shop again and would be telling her friends and family about the incident!!

The drivers constantly block Sidmouth Street without apology. Some of their drivers drive around the shopping areas about like boy racers letting down the business itself. The food is nice but expensive the opposite of their drivers I guess.

Ok so this is a nice butchers shop - a good choice of meats & offal on the counter…..so yes it was nice to be able to buy fresh calves liver, kidneys etc but, seriously, they have really inflated prices, outrageous in some instances.A kilo of lamb mince £30.46! I had to go back the following day to check that they hadn't made a mistake - that made one extraordinarily expensive shepherds pie! I won’t be buying that again from them.I live in West Wales and my local craft butcher charges around £10 per kilo.

Phoned ahead to make an order for large family gathering. Everything was ready and waiting on my arrival. Service was great and the food outstanding.We ordered a whole honey-roasted cooked ham, it was honestly the best ham I have ever tasted and this was echoed by many food lovers in the family.Burgers and sausages we ordered were also extremely popular.

When it comes to a butchers, for me quality almost always outweighs quantity. I bought two centre cut fillet steaks here and these were not huge, but I still remember the texture and flavour it was so good.The store made Pork Breakfast, Italian and Venison sausages are to die for as well. Not cheap, but god they are so very, very good.Their pastries are almost as good but here is the only area I can lay any criticism of this butchers. The hand raised pork pies are stunning in the texture and flavour of the meat and the pastry, but they are absent any jelly...which is a disappointment. Everything else, quality, knowledge and service, they're brilliant.

We bought a piece of cheese and tomato quiche for lunch.it tasted dry and stale. Took it back and when we asked they said it was at least two days old. Very poor. We had a refund but that's not the point. They say they have quality but it isn't

We had a hog roast for our wedding reception last weekend and everyone remarked on how lovely it was. The food was ready at the agreed time and we were served by Bradley and Lucy who were lovely they were very professional and made conversation with all our guests. We would highly recommend Walter Rose & Son .

My beef with this place (get it? beef?), is many. Oh where to start. I hate this shop. It makes me grumpy and gives me the dreads. Apart from having to take out a remortgage to buy anything, while asking if they sold organic once over the phone, the not-so gentle-man shrieked JESUS CHRIST" down the phone and hung up.
