Expensive overnight stop (£15) that has no power sockets or WiFi (standard in most regular cafes)Toilets are in good condition, staff are pleasant.

Washington Moto is the first services south of Newcastle, standard facilities including Gregg's,Costa Coffee, Burger king and Travelodge.Plenty of parking for both cars and lorries. Always had friendly helpful service here.I would return and recommend this services.

McDonald's here. Always clean and not too busyCosta coffe with lotsof cakes and typical w.h. Smith store too. EV car Charging point right by the food and fast Cornish pasty hut by the door if you are in a hurry. Picnic area by carpark for your own food. Popular with families and coach holidays stops.

Do not stop or park here, they use reg checking cameras and send you out £60 'reduced' fines for staying longer than they feel is acceptable. The place is rundown and Metrocentre is just down the road with better food and ASDA fuel. Avoid this place.

Service stations have a tough deal. Some newer ones are wonderful, whilst others are stinking cesspits. This one sits in the middle. It is clearly stuck in a small space on the side of the A1, so expansion is impossible. It just needs brightening up. Get rid of the slot machines, they just cheapen the place. Better lighting and freshening up the toilets would also help.

Nothing really to complain about. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. The TV didn't work in my room though, but I reported it and was offered help. Notes were taken and I felt like it will have been fixed for the next person to use the room. It didn't bother me with it not working because I hardly watch TV anyway.The room could do with some soundproofing though as it was too easy to hear people walking around on the floor above, but otherwise all was good.

Cleanest toilets in England, so nice to be able to visit public toilets that are clean and tidy, we really appreciate your dedication to cleanliness.The cleaning staff do a fantastic job, it's a shame other public places don't do the same.

This is a basic non-nonsense service area totally lacking in frills and with friendly staff. If you are travelling north it’s worth crossing the bridge to the more spacious seating area on the south-bound side. The Greggs is indoors on the south and not a shed in the car park as on the north. A plus on the north side is a gap in the fence leading to the outside world and a handy little shop selling booze and basic groceries.
