Only Yu Oriental Cuisine

First time visiting here for dim sum after they took over Jade City.The dim sum were exactly like the previous restaurant. We enjoyed every bit of it. The presentation, the quality and the flavours. And everything was served hot in temperature.The price is slightly higher but it's understandable. We paid £46 for 8 dim sum shared between the 3 of us.Slightly let down by the customer service though. When ordering, this staff just bluntly said in Cantonese that we have to wait ages" for the fried taro dumplings (my favourite dim sum!). I said that I didn't mind waiting but she repeated like she wouldn't accept the answer that we could wait. Annoyed

Definitely the best Dim Sum place in Manchester. So glad they reopen (previously was called Jade city) , different owner and staff but the dim sum chefs are the same (according to the waitress) hence, same good authentic Hong Kong dim sum.Very generous portion for dim sum, authentic taste, very delicious, fair price. Only £1 each for Chinese tea.The staff are very polite, very friendly with smile. We had a nice chat.Very happy with everything and definitely will come back, highly recommend.

This restaurant was previously Jade City and now has rebranded as Only Yu with new management. We recognised some of staff from a different Chinese restaurant in Manchester that has gone downhill. We really enjoyed our family dining here for Sunday lunch. All of the big dishes and the mains were super fresh, tasty and just full of flavour! We enjoyed the dim sum specials as the seafood in them just tasted so clean and fresh! The roasted three meats and rice was also very delicious, especially the roast duck - just a shame the portion was a bit on the smaller side. We definitely will be coming back here for our family meals in the future!Just to add, the restaurant is on the second level and with no lift so it was difficult to access with a baby and a pram - quite scary holding baby and pram going up 4 flights of stairs to access the restaurant.

We recently had the pleasure of celebrating our son's successful completion of the school term and exams at Only Yu Restaurant in Manchester, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! As our son can be quite a picky eater, we were delighted to find that he thoroughly enjoyed the food at Only Yu.From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the friendly and attentive managers, Hong and Simon, along with their incredible team, made us feel truly special. They went out of their way to ensure our son felt comfortable and catered to his specific preferences. Even the cashier came to our table to personally check if everything was to our liking, which truly added to the memorable experience.It's worth noting that Only Yu recently underwent a change in management since our last visit before the Covid era. During our conversation with the managers, they shared their extensive experience working in another popular Chinese outlet in the city. This background certainly shines through in the exceptional service and the delightful culinary offerings at Only Yu.As long-time residents in the UK, we have experienced various Chinese cuisines, but the dishes served at Only Yu truly stood out. The chef's creativity and skill were evident in the unique and delicious Chinese dim sum and other mouth-watering dishes. Our son, who is usually a fussy eater, couldn't get enough of the flavors and textures presented to him. It was a joy to see him relish each bite with enthusiasm.We left Only Yu Restaurant with our hearts and bellies full, immensely satisfied with our celebratory meal. If you're searching for a restaurant that not only offers delectable Chinese cuisine but also goes above and beyond to accommodate individual preferences, Only Yu is the place to be. Today Sunday we came Onlyyu Restaurant Dinner with families. Food is really delicious and beautiful.The steamed Grouper fish with soy sauce is the best one in the Chinatown.I definitely like to share with everyone on the images,so you could see how beautiful they look like.I am sure will com back Onlyyu Restaurant

A place recommended by friends, it's crowded, but the service is still attentive and friendly. After taking our seats, we were served with complimentary daily soup, and after our meal, we were given complimentary dessert. We tried several different dim sum dishes, including stir-fried beef noodles and beef stir-fry. The quality of the beef was excellent, and the dim sum was delicious in terms of appearance, aroma, and taste. Very satisfied. Will come again.

Excellent experience at Only Yu. We were regularly customers at the two former restaurants which occupied this unit (Jade City and Pacific before). Walked in to find that the manager used to manage another Chinese restaurant that we frequented!The three roast meat hor fun (三烧炒河） was very good. They used a wide noodle which has a better texture. The roasted meats on top were sliced neatly and looked really presentable. All three roast meats were really tasty as well.The dim sum was at least good if not excellent. The best item was the char siew pastry (叉烧酥) which featured a super buttery and light pastry with a generous, meaty and tasty filling. It's the best one I've had in 20 years. The siew mai was well-filled and generous in size and was very juicy and satisfying.The restaurant owners managed to hire lots of good staff who were pretty attentive, unlike the previous business on this site who provided two waiters for a pretty large place. Today, our hot water for tea was refilled without hassle. Empty plates were cleared quickly. A missed order was brought out immediately without fuss.We'll be back again to try the other dim sum and other dishes.

I really love this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Every visit will be well served. The ingredients are very fresh. Especially this time for a roast lamb. My friends liked it very much.

Dim sum was very delicious and authentic, especially steamed prawn dumplings 蝦餃, siu mai 燒賣, rice noodle roll 腸粉, beef tripe 牛柏葉, barbecue pork buns 叉燒包, and brown sugar sponge cake 馬拉糕.They also offered lunch set, 2 courses around £12. We ordered sweetcorn soup, sweet and sour chicken, the best we've ever had.Service was excellent, the staff were polite and efficient, even poured tea for us when our teacups were empty!We've been a few times, the food is always tasty, highly recommend.
