We were recommended to try this restaurant by local people who we rented a holiday cottage from. We were not disappointed as the service was excellent , friendly and helpful. The food was the best we have eaten on our 2 week trip to Scotland and very reasonably priced.A comfortable cosy restaurant that we will definitely return to.

Popped in to sample the pizzas in the beer garden. They have a lovely outside area with great views. A nice place to spend an afternoon or evening in the sun. The pizzas were lovely too.

We have just arrived home following a lovely three night stay at the Allanton Inn, and it was perfect. The room served us perfectly well with a comfy bed (not something we regularly experience at other places we have stayed), all amenities we needed, and spotlessly cleaned. The food and drink were, without doubt, the main thing which put a smile on our faces (along with the great service we experienced). The quality of the food was fantastic, and extremely good value for money, with a great range of drinks, all served by happy, knowledgable staff. This proved to be the perfect base for our adventures around the borders and Northumberland, and we look forward to staying here again when we come back to the area.

Ordered a fish platter for three (requires 48 hrs notice) as a special treat and it certainly delivered. Delicious, plentiful and super fresh fish and shellfish, plus perfect chips, good salad, scrumptious puds and friendly staff, Couldn't ask for more.

Great food, interesting menu with something for everyone. The two real ales on when we went were a bit too similar for my liking, although both good.

Lovely village pub, restaurant, and B&B.Very engaging and friendly staff.Good beers and wines.Excellent breakfast.Lovely menu and evening meals.I look forward to my next visit and overnight stay.

Absolutely fabulous! The food was divine and great price for such quality. The staff were friendly and attentive. We would definitely recommend. The lady who took the table booking deserves a special thanks for fitting us in at short notice

Had a fantastic overnight stay here and a meal on our way back from a Scotland Road Trip. I would definitely stay again and recommend. One of the best steaks I’ve ever tasted too.

Excellent menu, difficult to choose what to have. All the dishes we had were well presented and delicious. The lemon syllabub was a refreshing light way to finish a lovely meal. Friendly service extended to superb breakfast after good night's sleep. Highly recommended.

Not dog friendly inside so we sat outside in a pod. The heater meant we didn't even notice being outside apart from the incredible views and the birds in the apple tree above us. An incredible location!Service was wonderful and the food was even better. One of the best pizzas I've ever had and the steak and fish meals were just as good! A definite recommendation for anyone in the area
