Cannock Chase Crematorium

Attended a friend's funeral today. What lovely surroundings. My only suggestion is that the curtains which close around the coffin shouldcompletely hide the coffin after committal.You have already said your goodbyes and to still see the coffin when you are leaving is very upsetting.

Remembrance room was airy and bright and large enough to accommodate over 100 mourners. However we felt the window behind the coffin should be frosted much further up to hide the busy road. This may improve when the trees are in leaf. Also because the frosting is low the coffin is visible from the outside.While waiting for our funeral the previous mourners came through the waiting area.The time between services is far too short especially as there was nowhere to park on the official car park and we ended up parking on a service road at the rear of the building.We were initially enthusiastic about the building of a crematorium locally as we live in Norton Canes. Following our first visit today I would not recommend this facility.

Had a ceremony for my Grandad yesterday, it was such a beautiful service. I expected a dark gloomy cold room which is what I’ve experienced at other funerals, but the room was modern & bright, natural light filled the room and the huge windows looked out to the trees & birds flying overhead.The sheer curtains were a lovely touch, I feel that it made the experience much more peaceful rather than the coffin being conveyed out of sight.The funeral officiant was respectful, professional and pleasant.I couldn’t have imagined a nicer goodbye. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication.

Still quite new. Nice place, with a pleasant view of the grounds and deer out of the window during the service. Live online video stream available for those unable to attend. Just a few little adjustments would make a big improvement, like having another exit out of the garden area, so it flows through, rather than returning the same way you access it. There is an electric car charging point in the car park.

Attended a service yesterday, my 1st visit and although the service was nice, the accustics in the room left a lot of people saying they never heard a word, the venue was very clinical with no warmth, whoever landscaped the garden had never heard of evergreen so the gardens which I imagine would look nice in the summer looked bare and dead which was unfortunate given the reason for been there. But by far the worst was the terrible see through drapes. It was awful to see the coffin and have to walk away

Clean modern building, the service went very well and the vicar very thoughtful. xx

Attended a funeral of a close family member a short while ago. The crematorium was clean, well presented and nicely furnished. It's never a happy occasion but the facility makes it better.

We held mom’s funeral service here. It’s a really beautifully designed building with a Scandinavian feel. Seats face huge windows overlooking fields with the loved ones coffin in front of them. The curtains which surround the coffin at the end of the service are a semi-sheer fabric, giving the impression that the loved one is “gone but never too far away”The grounds are lovely too and will become more so as they mature. Well done Cannock Chase council and all involved- it’s a really special place.

Thanks to Jo and staff for a beautiful service for our Mum. Jo has guided us with compassion to choosing a plot in the tranquil Memorial Garden for both Mum and Brother.

Mum wanted a direct cremation and my health hasnt been the best so I havent visited yet but I've spoken on the phone to arrange for mums name to be put in the book of remembrance, everyone I've spoken to have been so supportive and kind nothing has been too much trouble and I can arrange to visit to see the book before next year. Thank you to all of you for your wonderful help.
