Needed to find somewhere up north to see family over Christmas, and this was a nice cheap location to stay over a week. Our room had a decent TV, a Microwave, Fridge, Cutlery, Internet and a nice shower. The heating was great and the beds were fairly comfortable. It felt very homely and we settled quickly. It's not the best place if you don't have a car, as you're in the middle of nowhere and you have no phone signal inside the building, you will need to walk out to get a good signal, but this isn't their fault. The nearest town is several miles away.Overall, lovely little place and recommend for anyone travelling with a car or friend who's able to drive them up and down! X

I've had a little three day break alone with mythree dogs staying in one of the chalets. This was perfect for me. Ample space In the room to put up 3 crates. Absolutely everything you need. Kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, spare blanket. Tea, coffee, sugar bottles of water. Towels..full length mirror. Well worth the money

I had a lovely stay here. The room was warm & comfortable. It had every convenience plus some extras including: a fridge; microwave; iron & ironing board. The hosts were really welcoming & friendly. The breakfasts were delicious. My dog was made very welcome & there were lots of great walks to explore. I would definitely recommend staying here & will be staying here again when I visit my friends.

Very pleased we found this (by luck).Excellent location, excellent equipment (free WiFi,TV with Freesat and Netflix, kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, iron and board, etc.)Clean and comfy bed, plenty of towels, soap, tea coffee.Loved the stable door, could keep top open and bottom closed (to stop the dogs escaping).Full breakfast available at the pub (best £5 I have spent :) ).Hosts are very friendly and helpful.

There are ample parking spaces. We stayed two nights here. The owner was really nice and provided us some food as their pub was closed on new year’s day.The room has a fridge, kettle, microwave and hair dryer. It’s clean and has gas heating to warm you up during winter. It’s a short drive to Durham high street or Newcastle.Good value. I would definitely recommend.

A wonderful night spent colliery stable. Lovely clean room with great roomy shower comfortable bed and even had a fridge, toaster, microwave, iron and ironing board. We had dinner in the Royal Oak next door which had amazing food and went and had a delicious breakfast next to the stable in there too. Everything needed close by. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Absolutely fantastic couple of nights. Stayed in the stables. Room was great and had fridge, toaster, microwave. Room was cosy and warm and everything we needed. Ian and Sonia were VERY welcoming and so friendly. Perfect as 2 miles from my daughter who we were visiting. Price is fantastic and breakfast was unbelievable for a Fiver. Food was lovely at the pub too. Will be using here everything we stay.
