I took my MX -5 in because the engine management light came on. I was treated like a valued customer, given coffee and made to feel comfortable and welcome. My car was diagnosed, inspected and a concussion reached within 10 minutes. The best part is that sooner than just creating unnecessary work and expense (where I'm sure so many other garages would have), I was told that the light had more likely been a malfunction as the part had clearly been replaced previously before I got the car. I was assured that if by chance the light should come back on further investigation and necessary work would be carried out. This guy deserves business.
