Climb Wales

I had a fantastic day with Glynn doing Cneifion Arete. As well as having all the equipment and technical knowledge to get me through my first grade 3 scramble, he also had detailed knowledge of the local geology, flora and fauna which really enhanced the experience. On top of that, the chat between us all was non-stop the whole day and he’s a top bloke to spend a day out with. I’d 100% recommend booking with Climb Wales if you’re looking at doing anything similar in Snowdonia.

I come from a sport climbing background and went to Climb Wales to learn how to trad climb so I can grade 3 scramble and maybe dip my toes into trad climbing in the future. I've always found the premise of trad scary but now I've had comprehensive training and have a full understanding of it I can't wait to start doing it. Climb Wales covered everything and I'm confident building multi-point anchors, placing gear and abseiling. Glyn is a fount of knowledge, I always felt safe and above all, just generally a nice bloke to spend the day with. Couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

Just finished an all day experience and honestly cannot recommend enough.I felt so safe throughout but my boundaries were definitely pushed!I've done my fair share of guided experiences but never anything like this!!

A group of 3 of us did a 2-day Trad climbing course and it was absolutely brilliant! Glyn is a fantastic teacher. We came in with just a small amount of sport climbing and bouldering between us and Glyn has given us the confidence to set up our own routes. He took us right through from belaying safely from below and above, using cams, nuts, quick draws, slings and setting up anchor points safely to belay your mate to follow you up. At which point he taught us how to take everything out and safely/tactically move your way up the rock face. Definitely got to take on some challenging routes that will push you, but Glyn is hanging from a rope next to you giving you tips as you go along (and ready to clip you into his harness if you feel a bit panicky/tired!). We had a brilliant time and couldn’t believe how much we learnt. Would 100% recommend, probably the best course I’ve been on in a long time and great value. We learnt so much more than I expected we would!

Best day out I've had in Wales ever. I've been coming to the country since I was 3. I've been up most mountains here and seen both north and south but by far this is the best adventure I've had. Glenn was amazing, he proper put you at ease and his knowledge and experience makes you feel welcome and safe. Would definitely recommend to everyone I know. I will be booking in again.

I booked Glyn at Climb Wales on a whim and a little last minute, I had called da few places and no one got back to me. Glyn was super responsive, clear and could tailor for exactly what I wanted. 3 full days of climbing experience in Snowdonia. Glyn's depth of knowledge created an incredible, cost effective and thrilling experience, that would be hard to beat! Gorging, wild swimming, abseiling, climbing, potholing, cave exploring and some serous hiking. I got to see places I don't think I would have if it wasn't for Glyn. Highly recommended and am seeing him again for a weeks climbing in October and hopefully the Welsh 3000!!!

Fantastic experience! Glyn was absolutely great. Prior to the day his organisation was second to none and we were so excited for our half climbing day, it exceeded our expectations. From the outset Glyn was friendly yet professional and we felt very safe under his instruction. We were very amateur but was so impressed with how much we accomplished in the day with 3 climbs and an abseil! We wanted a challenge and Glyn gave us so much support in making that happen. He even gave us some local scenic recommendations for after the day. Thank you Glyn have fun on your next adventure with kira in tow!

We had a fantastic weekend with Glyn learning how to sport climb.He’s an amazing teacher and we made huge progress over the two days. Neither of us had done outdoor climbing before and by the end of the weekend we were confident with belaying each other and leading routes. He found a great balance between making us feel safe and pushing us to challenge ourselves and we ended the weekend on a real high by completing a long and difficult (for us) climb with a fantastic view at the top.It was great to be with someone with Glyn’s local knowledge as it meant we were able to dodge the rain and discover some really beautiful spots where we had the routes almost all to ourselves.Finally Glyn is a really nice funny guy to spend a weekend with, and if you’re lucky maybe Akira the dog will also join your class.

Was recommended through word of mouth about Climb wales and their courses what I experienced surpassed my expectations. Glyn made the three day trad course Informative, fun and engaging. Only wish I’d had time to stay longer.

Glyn took my son and I out for two days in Snowdonia. One day was spent in an old slate quarry. One was spent getting to the top of Snowden, via Crib Goch.Glyn is fantastic. We had an incredible time. I cannot recommend Glyn enough.Glyn is well aware of one’s real and imagined physical and psychological limits. He was able to make sure both my son (fearless) and I (respectful of gravity) ended each adventure with a huge sense of accomplishment, wonder, and appreciation.In addition to the goals of each day’a journey, we had interesting conversations along the way…science, technology, education, politics, economics. We had a lot of time together, and made the most of it.Glyn even recommended some good restaurants for the days we were not out with him!I cannot recommend Glyn more strongly. We are arranging to see him again for more adventures, on our next visit.
