Finlay and Son carried out a really beautiful piece of craftsmanship on our wooden kitchen floor with its irregular missing section: repairing, sanding, and sealing the entire floor so that the join is invisible and the whole space looks far better and is much better protected against damage. Callum Finlay brought immense professional, specialised knowledge to the task and was also very helpful in working out how to combine that with our needs and access to the kitchen. Timelines were explained clearly in advance and everything happened on schedule. We would recommend Finlay and Son for anything to do with wooden floors, without reservation.

Callum restored our parquet flooring in our lounge and hallway and the transformation is amazing! Never could of imagined it looked so good. After finding the whole situation a mine field finlay and son put us at ease and got the job done with minimal disruption and once the work was done you’d never known you’d had the messy job done. Finlay and Son
Callum Finlay restored our wood block church auditorium floor to look like new. It had not been properly refurbished since it was laid in the 1960's and need much sanding before treatment. All the restoration work was carried out with great care and consideration in every detail. A very reliable company with good office back-up and a pleasure to have working for us. The after sales service has also proved to be excellent with advice on how to care for the floor in future. Thank you!

I would recommend Callum at Finlay and Son to anyone. From start to finish I couldn’t be more happy with the professionalism and skill to sand and stain our pine floorboards. Callum has 40 years experience and it shows, we are so happy with the result (see before and after pictures). He kept us updated throughout and leaves you with aftercare instructions and materials. Above all he’s a kind and patient man and it was a pleasure to have him work on our floors.

Callum and Philippa provided excellent service from start to finish. Callum assessed the job and advised what could be done to restore our parquet flooring to its former glory. He repaired, cleaned, sanded and lacquered and the result is truly impressive! He gave a fixed quote and kept to agreed timescale. He was reliable and informative, and a true craftsman. He advised on how he would integrate his work with the decorating we also needed, and caring for the floor afterwards. Philippa provided excellent admin support and kept us informed when necessary. They were a pleasure to deal with, and we thoroughly recommend them.
