Toilets are open 24/7, and the coin-operated hot shower (£1 for about 7 mins) is a boon for campers and folks sleeping in their vehicles. In other words, what most public toilets on the west coast of Scotland should be like.

You'd think you were a million miles away from the mainland but only 2 hrs. Very pretty island just off the coast of North Uist, Outer Hebrides. The ferry from the harbour regularly takes cars and passengers to neighbouring island Harris, another beautiful island.

An unremarkable ferry port, one of several in the Hebrides, operated by Calmac. What made this remarkable for us was that someone had forewarned the crew that one of us had limited mobility and, having checked our names, directed us to a lane which resulted in us parking directly next to the lift. Excellent service, and a very comfortable passenger area. Full marks to Calmac!

Such a lovely spot to wander around and take in all the maritime comings and goings. Also, a 24 hour toilet facility plus shower which (in 2022) is £1 for 7.5 minutes.Another great spot on Berneray.

Handy shower stop - pound coin operated and runs for 7 minutes. We put an extra coin in the donation box to help the community keep places like this open.

£1.00 for a 7 minute shower in the harbour toilets ain't bad. Just be warned that the toilets are Unisex.

Shower and toilets great for campers in the area. Good bunch of trawler crews there and saw a trailer full of sheep come in and unload!
