What a wonderful restaurant! I would recommend this to everyone. The food was spectacular, really traditional and beautifully made - always came fresh out of the kitchen piping hot! The service was great and the ambiance was lovely, I felt like I was on holiday! It was also exceptional value for what it was, we will be back. Thank you :)

Very cozy and agreeable restaurant in Hampstead. The food and service are very good. My only suggestion is some of the decor could be upgraded such as the steps and chairs and some of the menus were falling apart, however the food was good and overall a nice ambiance in a charming part of Hampstead.

I want to start by saying that I love how reasonable the prices were. We had a 3 course meal each for under £25 per person + bread with buttern on the house. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy, definitely had the right atmosphere for what it is. The food was good, to be completely honest I wasn’t over the moon about it but I’m happy to say I’ve tried the infamous onion soup. The service was great. It’s definitely worth stopping by if you’re having a day around Hampstead

Imagine visiting a fancy French spinster in the early 1900s: every effort has been made for your visit... The best china is out, crystal glasses twinkle in the candle light and fresh flowers from her garden adorn the table. The old aunty welcomes you warmly and fusses around lovingly while you get settled. She brings out some of yesterday's baguette and butter to nourish you after your journey across Paris.Once you've decided what to eat, she shuffles off to the kitchen and starts cooking. Out of sight it's mayhem, she overcooks the duck breast and dauphinoise potatoes. But, she's made of sterner stuff than to panic so aunty plates up the food so beautifully she hopes the mouth won't notice. It almost doesn't.The fresh tagliatelle she has made comes out perfectly. Being French, she of course douses the pasta and prawns with garlic, butter and cream. Proudly the plate is presented and she beams when you polish it off.The chat is lovely and she's interested in your life but then! Mon dieu! It's time for dessert...The tartine was made with pears and figs from her local neighbour which she carefully incorporated into the pastry. You discreetly pull out all the delicious sticky fruity filling from its hard pastry casing. After dinner, you sit and listen to the lovely music before heading home.Would you regularly visit your spinster aunt? Probably not but her kindness and effort is always appreciated so maybe just best to pop in for a starter and coffee now and then.

Was bummed. The atmosphere looked like this would be good. Really bummed. I haven't had this problem in a while. I had three courses and took one or two bites and left the rest because it was that bad. I felt like I wasted my money. The onion soup had to be the worst I have ever had. It was like a store bought mixture with old horrible cheese. The tagliatelle didn't even match the menu description. My teen daughter could have made better pasta. It had grated cheese on top and not as described. There were no king prawns but a few small frozen shrimp. The creme brulee sugar was burnt and not crispy..the texture of the cream was off..The young wait staff were good. I hate leaving a bday review but this was not good at all.

Prices looked very reasonable but unfortunately the food was just not good ! I was just disappointed as I loved the atmosphere of a little romantic French restaurant. The French onion soup was terrible, the pasta was awful! The duck was good but it came with 5 badly cut string beans and a blend mash potato side.

I really enjoyed my meal here. The location is lovely and can be used as a stop before embarking on a walk around the heath, or if you just fancy pottering around the shops of Hampstead. Being able to have a 3 course meal anywhere in London for under £25 is always going to be great value for money. All the food served felt very homely, the staff were friendly and it was just what was needed before a winter's walk. I would highly recommend the duck!

A perfect neighbourhood restaurant. Beautifully cooked and delicious food, a great wine list and lovely atmosphere. This hidden gem is one of the best French restaurants in London.
