Horcott Lakes

fished the tench lake for 48 hours, june 13 / 14 / 15 2023,, was a long 4 hour drive for me to get there, but omg was it worth it, had 27 tench from 4lb to 8lb also lost 5 in the weed beds, was rudely awaken by a tench setting my bite alarm off at 3.30am,, managed to land it in the dark, thought i may as well stay awake now since its nearly dawn, good choice made there, as i had 15 more tench, but once the sun came up over the tree line ( at around 7am ) it seemed to put them off feeding.i would highly recommend this place to anglers who like tench fishing, i will most certainly be back there in the near future.thank you Horcott lakes for having me.

Great venue, with welcoming a atmosphere. Toilet facilities definitely needs some upgrading though.

Great little lakes great to see many fisherman at the side of the lakes fishing even this time of year.

47 years ago I lived in Fairford, and whilst Google touring spotted the lakes, for which other reviewers mentioned dog walking. The bailiff ? answered the phone no on the fisheries website. Charming and helpful he explained the footpaths were permissive and we were welcome to dog walk. So we did. Boy has the undergrowth grown...into a wood! Loads of wildlife,very peaceful. Don't forget waterproof footwear!

Beautiful lake and bailiff was helpful and welcoming. Other anglers were helpful especially ticket holders. Watercraft is a must and fining clear spots in the weed is vital. Not a beginners lake. I lost the only run of the day in weeds, my fault as limited knowledge on fishing weegy lakes. I will be back, lake is stunning as are the fish in this lake. A quality lake available to all, not always the case nowadays.

It is not often you come across a venue with a fantastic stock with great staff and a very well run clean and tidy fishery.Also to offer the general public with incredible looking large fish to over 40lb .Thank you to Lee and his team for making my visit to Horcott the best I have ever had from a day ticket venue.Kind regards Mark Pannell
