Mid April Visit - Plenty of varieties of trees and plants from all over the world. A sequoia tree which is magnificent. A beautiful local garden with free entry. Check opening times as they are later than in summer than winter. Great to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Can get a little bit busy at times though.

I visited Cheslyn Gardens in late November 2020 (during the second lockdown) with my 11 week old baby. Despite the season, there was still plenty to see in the way of plants and trees, and it was a very peaceful walk. We encountered just two other people on a weekday lunchtime. On arrival, I looked at the map and decided to visit the aviary. This housed small birds, including a large number of cockatiels, which my daughter was delighted by.Beyond here, we followed the path and admired some fuschias in bloom, and a towering sequoia. The more wooded area beyond was understandably muddy but did not require anything beyond trainers for someone unconcerned about getting them dirty. There were plenty of benches to stop at as we walked around. I'm aware there is also a pond, but we somehow missed this, and the sign at the entrance indicated that there were toilets, but we did not seek these either. This was a lovely walk, and we would return again, especially in other seasons when more plants would be in bloom.

Bit of a local gem.We went on a Sunday morning and there we only 4 other cars in the car park.Free parking and free entry.A well kept garden full of all kinds of interesting plants, trees & shrubs. There’s a pond with koi and a small aviary. A peaceful place to wander.Dogs are welcome on a lead.

A beautiful hidden gem that I've returned to several times over the past 20 years or so. The gardener does a fabulous job keeping the garden looking beautiful. There is a bird aviary and a fish pond that seems to fascinate the kids. Beyond the pond are winding paths that weave through the trees, attracting wildlife such as bees and mice. We spent about an hour exploring and taking photos of the many colourful flowers. Free to enter. There is a small car park plus a toilet on site.

If you want to escape everyday noise around you so you can hear yourself think, then this is the place to visit. It's free.Beautiful quite peaceful place. Surrounded by beautiful gardens for a walk or to sit down and relax. Only thing that's missing is a little coffee van for take a way.In summer some visitors have a picnic in grounds. Highly recommended.

Cheslyn Gardens is my place to go to and embrace nature in the centre of the buzzing Town o Watford. Yet it feels so quiet and calm like the Beautiful nature places of Malawi. I Love coming here to reflect, relax and explore different varieties of flowers, fish and birds. The Best secretive place for family picnics. I even Thanked the council caretaker who has been tending the garden for years for providing the Best nature Sanctuary for us all!

Lovely garden, very large with a huge variety of plants and trees, and lots of paths to explore the different areas. Very well looked after and a lovely haven of peace to visit. Highly recommended after my second visit.

A really unassuming but beautiful garden in what is quite a suburban area. You could probably walk round the entire grounds in 20 minutes but there are plenty of places to stop and enjoy your surroundings. The gardener (yes there’s only one) does a fantastic job and there’s a really unusual mix of flowers and plants that work together really well. Stopped to chat to the gardener before leaving and he was really approachable and knowledgeable. And the best part is that it’s dog friendly and free! Well worth a visit if you’re in the area!

It’s June and what a lovely hidden gem of a place for summer! Beautiful and intriguing it’s lovely to wonder the paths and find where you end up. Wheelchair and pushchair accessible for only the beginning of the gardens the rest is quite wild as one would expect from the more wooded area. Small car park but still lovely to have one especially because there is no charge. Beautiful exotic plants makes for a lovely summers outing. The paths were a bit overgrown but I saw a gardener working hard to clear some space. Would highly recommend!!!!

Its a nice small garden packed with beautiful seasonal flowers, shrubs and trees. There is a small car park with few disable spaces. Good place to take children there for a picnic. There is a lawn at the front and benches scattered at various location in the garden. Toilet available too.
