The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon at Fortnum & Mason
Was truly on the fence about having Afternoon Tea here because the reviews were so mixed but opted to just give it a-go and can 100% vouch for those that stated this place is highly overrated.Service was extremely slow, we had a weird pungent scent of fish near our table the entire time- server was nice enough but not very attentive. The scones were some of the best I've ever had so kudos to that (clotted cream was nice as well) but the sandwiches were nothing to rave about/very forgettable and the entire sweets portion were NOT good at all (I didn't finish anythingggg); even my tea selection was a standard drip tea bag and not loose. They do offer you one additional slice of cake- so I went with the pumpkin one which was ok.I wouldn't recommend, especially at such a high price point.

My American family had the best time experiencing tea for the first time. The elegant ambiance of Fortnum & Mason made for an exceptional experience. Our server was so kind and walked us through the menu, explaining how and what to order, as well as recommendations of teas, as this was our first time. We had a lovely time; highly recommended.

I’ve had better teas for £20 than this. It wasn’t awful the sandwiches were nice but £80 each for some sandwiches and cakes that weren’t the best. We didn’t actually eat the cakes there as couldn’t manage anything sweet after the scones so took them home. The only nice one was the mini rose eclair.Don’t get me wrong the place is beautiful and can’t fault the staff but when I think of the meal I could have had elsewhere for the same price.

Our experience here was incredible! Everything from the ambiance, service, drinks, and food absolutely made it worth the splurge. They had a large selection of teas, so there's a tea for everyone. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were all great, and you could get more of anything you liked. Our server was very attentive and so sweet! I'd highly recommend going if you're looking for a place for afternoon tea!

We had a lovely time at the Afternoon Tea. My only suggestion would be that the items on the serving plate should have been for three. We were three in our party and we all ordered the Savoury Afternoon Tea, but one of the trays that was serving two people only have one item of each of the savoury pastries, so they had to split each one to try it. That was unfortunate. Otherwise, the service was impeccable and we had a great time.

Let me tell you about the afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason, a delightful, though somewhat bustling affair, particularly at their Jubilee Tea Salon in Piccadilly. One must plan well ahead, though last-minute openings do occasionally pop up. The Jubilee, while a bit more hurried and pricey than their other location, offers a splendid all-you-can-eat-and-drink (tea) experience. The trek to the salon, braving the crowd and ascending four flights, is quite the endeavor, especially of a late afternoon when it remains quite lively. Inside, the atmosphere is rather spirited for a tea room, bustling with vacationer energy. The tea selection is most impressive, and the savory offerings are largely successful. The ham and egg sandwiches, along with the scones, were simply delightful. The beef burger and green mousse presented an intriguing twist, though some of the other items were, shall we say, a tad peculiar for our palate.A notable drawback, particularly as the evening draws in and the chill sets, is the inability to serve the food particularly warm or hot, which can leave one feeling a bit underwhelmed and unsatisfied. However, a most unexpected and delightful surprise was the festive Negroni – one of the finest I've ever had, and quite the revelation at a tea establishment, I must say. All in all, a lovely, albeit somewhat busy experience, but certainly one that holds its charm if this is your first visit to London.

We purchased Champagne afternoon tea through Virgin experiences for 2 adults for £120 for both of us. This was exceptional value as the on the day price per person is £80 for the afternoon tea and champagne £17.50 on top, then service charge. So you save nearly £100. The afternoon tea is exceptional, amazing selection of pastries, extensive tea menu and the sandwiches are delightful. The setting is classic and service was brilliant. We loved the fact you can ask for more scones, pastries and sandwiches. This is a must visit.

Arriving for our booking a little ahead of our 5:45pm booking on the last day of November we were seated relatively quickly.Personally, I thought the sandwiches and scones were absolutely delicious. The cakes perhaps no quite so much.Service was a bit hit-and-miss with staff not generally keeping eyes on the room and indeed - the tables they where looking after. We both thought that the Ritz was a much better experience for afternoon tea.
