Gilded Cage Tattoo Studio

Had my second all day session with James for a cover up and couldn’t be happier. Having James complete my sleeve previously I knew he would be perfect to fix an old tattoo I really wasn’t happy with!This wasn’t the easiest of cover ups and anywhere else I would have been worried about how it was going to turn out however, knowing James and how talented and experienced he is I had no worries.From the moment you arrive he makes you feel completely at ease and has the best music which is a bonus.If you are thinking of having a tattoo be it your first one or a cover up James and his team will not disappoint you, just wish I’d found him sooner than I did!

Me and my partner came to stay in Brighton for a few days and came in on the off chance that Gilded Cage would be able to take last minute bookings, which they did! We both had the pleasure of meeting Jason who was able to do both of our tattoos. We honestly couldn’t be any happier with the results of Jason’s work as the tattoos are beautiful and his talent is absolutely incredible! If either of us ever need a tattoo in the future we know exactly where to go. I would also like to thank the artist that had Rihanna playing in the background as she is what helped me through the pain! Thank you Gilded Cage. (:

Guilded Cage were recommended to me by a friend. Had a tattoo done last year that I was really unhappy with. After conversations and emails with James, I knew it could be rectified. Was filled with confidence, so let James have pretty much total freedom. I’m more than glad that I did. Amazing studio amazing staff and James really is an incredible artist. The studio environment was very cozy and relaxing. When I went in the only people in the studio that day were myself, my friend and Jay C, who was our artist.Jay C did a wonderful job and I thoroughly love his design, tattoo process, and bed side manner. He was a delight to spend an afternoon with and I would be more than overjoyed to visit the studio and him again for my next tattoo.

Jay gave me this piece of art the other day. Helped me made my thoughts become true and done it perfectly.Although there were few last minute changes but Jay had them fit it together. He is very creative and focused, multiple free hands but only improved the whole picture.Very good skills on the skull, levels and shadows.I am new to tattoo, didn’t feel weird or scary at all, on the other hand, very chill, easy to chat with and many communications to make sure this is what you want. And very reasonable price.

I had the least painful tattoo session ever even tho it took 5 hours! My tattoo was done by Jason, all the experience was top notch, Jason is very gentle and caring, and he is incredibly talented! I’m very impressed by his work and cannot wait to get more pieces done by him! :)

Amy is an amazing tattoo artist who has a very calming aura and a very steady hand! She works hard not only on the tattooing itself, but creating the work so it suits you and the area it's going to be. She's very friendly, and will make sure you feel comfortable both before and during the process.The resulting work is beautiful and personal. I have to say I've not had such a painless piece of work done. She's got a gentle touch, but is tough when needed and you can see that in the resulting work. She always checks in on how you're doing during, offering breaks as needed, and is just lovely. It was amazing to watch her design come to life on my skin!As a previous self-harmer, I was always self-conscious of my forearms, but Amy has turned all that around. Working gently but firmly over the scars, and the result is something I'm so proud of. It's like she erased a horrible point in my life and gave me something new that I love.The tattoos are Tank Girl (Jamie Hewlett) and Noodle from Gorillaz, and each piece shows how amazing Amy is at both grayscale and coloured work. I am so, so happy and, next time I have an idea for a tattoo, she'll be the one I contact, with confidence!

Got tattooed by Jay C. Consultation was great, Jay C really knew his stuff and advised me on what to get and why what I wanted wouldn't look great there( which is what i needed) I had the lower arm done and Jay C designed what I wanted and tattooed it perfectly. Great at communicating and emails me back within 24 hours every time. Very friendly and have already rebooked my next tattoo with him. Would happily rate Jay C to my friends and family.

I have been totally blown away by Gilded Cage from start to finish! From the moment I got in touch via email they were warm, supportive and responsive to my questions. On arrival at the studio (which is stunning, photos attached) James welcomed me, made me a cup of tea and put me right at ease. My tattoo was much smaller and less intricate (fine-line lettering) than his usual work , but he treated me with just as much respect and care as if I were having a whole sleeve done! He communicated clearly to me throughout the appointment, made sure I understood what was happening next and checked in on me throughout. His work was second to none - when I finally looked at the tattoo, he has absolutely nailed it, to the extent that I threw my arms around him in a huge hug! Not sure he was expecting that - but there was no other option for me. He is a kind and wonderfully talented human and I will now never go anywhere else. Thank you James xx

I had a wonderful experience at Guilded Cage. The atmosphere was happy but relaxed, and James put me at ease with both his professionalism and kindness. As for my tattoo, it is beautiful and I am loving it. I'm glad I chose it for somewhere prominent because it is a really special peice of art. Thank you so much James, I will be back!
